Enma was a man ready to always stand up and defend Soul Society when the need arised. The first, and often last line of defense was himself. But today, he was in the vast wilderness beyond Rukongai, and this time, it was not any of his expeditions. For the next few days, Soul Society will have to fend for itself. There were people, namely his own Division, who were left to see to this. He was carefull enough to leave written instruction on what needed doing while he is away. But why was Enma away. It was simple really. Enma needed to improve himself. Naturally, he was always taking his time to improve himself in order to remain stronger than foes of Soul Society, but lately, he was unusually busy, so this was long overdue. Enma was here for serious improvement of his abilities. The first day, Enma was about to put himself at serious test. Unsheathing his Zanpakuto, Enma was breathing slowly, preparing himself for the very act of training. He knew that it would squeeze his strenght out. But, nonetheless, he would see this through. "Illuminate, Tomoshibi!" Enma now had his staff in hands rather than his sword.

"Change." Enma turned his flames into red ones, and still breathing deeply, he started to concentrate. The whole present mass of flames started to come alive. It increased, as Enma generated more out of his staff. And all of that red flames, every single flare, it all started to gather at one point. Still takink deep, equal breaths, Enma kept on focusing and concentrating that mass. The final result was cube. Cube was big, 10 feet tall, and wide and long as much, being a cube. Enma sighed in relief, and then walked away a bit, and then stuk his staff into the ground. He had no further use for his Zanpakuto today, but he had to keep it in Shikai so the cube would remain. Here, in the depths of the forests beyond Rukongain, Enma finally began his training. He knew that he coudn't obliterate the cube this big of his red flames on his first day. The goal was to crack it. But it wouldn't come with ease. Not yet, at least.

Standing 10 paces away from the cube, Enma started to concentrate. His mind was about to do it's trick. "Shakkaho!" A red orb generated on the palm of Enma's stretched arm, and fired away. It quickly covered those ten paces of distance before the impact. But despite exploding successfuly on the impact, Shakkaho did no good. So Enma repeated it. He stretched out both arms, both palms aimed at the cube. Enma was trying to get as much as possible out of himself, launching over twenty Shakkaho in just two minutes. Exhausting, but needed. But it didn't work at all. Enma's Kido of this level was capable of ignoring disintegration property of the red flames, but was unable to break through solidity.

So he pressed himself more and more. It was exhausting, and Enma had the sweat dripding off him. But he focused himself, concentrating more Reiatsu into every Shakkaho he fired away. And he kept on doing that. Firing spell after spell, minute after minute. Two hours later, he made a break to eat, and after having some sushi, he removed his Haori and kimono, leaving them o dry out from sweat, and he continued. He kept it kicking for two more stunning hours. But to no avail. It exhausted him to the point where he was barely standing. But Enma was not going to give up. He had to give it his best, his all. Sinking all remaining Reiatsu he had, and there was not too much of it, into a single Shakkaho, Enma roared as he fired it away. The moment it fired away, he fell down to his knees. He was struggling to remain conscious. He looked at the cube, and noticed that it was not destroyed. It wa still standing. But the last Shakkaho cracked it. Pleased, Enma crawled his way into the bedroll he took with himself, and fell asleep, even though the sun was still up in the sky.

After about seventeen hours of sleep, Enma woke up rejuvenated. His Reiatsu, expended fully the previous day, was now fully regenerated and restored. Enma approached the cube, which was damaged, and examined it. It was cracked, but the damage was not serious at all. He still had ways to go. But for today, he knew he wouldn't need it. So he walked away to the Tomoshibi, which still stood stuck in the ground where Enma left it the previous day, still in Shikai. Enma smiled. Him going to sleep didn't make Tomoshibi revert to sealed form. It was due to Enma's strong bond with Zanpakuto. It would require Enma forcefully losing consciousness for that to happen. He took his Zanpakuto and sealed it, which also caused the cube to disappear. For the second day, Enma thought of more interesting training. Knowing that nobody will disturb his camp, enma didn't boteher even to dress his kimono and Haori. He just left them there along with his sleeproll and backpack, out of which he only took a bit food to eat later.

Then he left for a place he knew. It was not far from his campsite, which was located by the stream in deep forest. Soon, Enma got to the clearance, which was really big, about 6 miles in diameter. Nad on the east side of it, instead of forest, was abandoned quarry. It was once used to suply Seireitei, but now was full of big blocks of stone, lying all over the quarry. Enma descended in there and decided to start right away. Taking a stance, he fired a kido. But this time it was not Shakkaho. "Raikoho!" Big, yellow orb generated on his palm, and from it, a lighting-like blast fired away. It destroyed the block fully, rendering it to small rocks and dust. Enma was pleased with the destructive power, but to enhance his Reiatsu, he had to do this many times over. Luckily, there were many blocks, so he could do it really many times. And effects were the same every time.

Well, not exactly the same. Though it was more tiring than Shakkaho practice he had the day before, Enma noticed that his destructive power started to increase after an hour or so. Slowly, but it increased. After each fired Raikoho, he noticed that remains of stone block were more dust and less small rocks. That was good. Th was on way to achieve what he wanted for today, and that is to render blocks to dust with his Raikoho. Knowing that he had to keep working hard in order for that to happen, Enma continued. It was tiring, and sun was cruelly burning his back now that he wasn't in the shade of forest, but Enma kept on going for an hour and a half more. After that, he stopped for a break. He felt it is neccesary. He sate his hunger, and decided to sleep a bit. But how to know when to awake? Simple. He focused, and when he felt it was enough of focus, he told his Zanpakuto Spirit to wake him up. -WIP-
