Anamist sat atop a massive tree branch from one of the monstrous trees in the Menos Forest, knowing the age of the trees was near impossible- the forest was as old as anything he knew; and he was quite old himself. He sat at the very edge of the branch, comfortably on the unnaturally thick moss. His posture was unique, out of place and very "correct"
Arrancar or hollows by nature, didn't possess the intellect or desire to be correct or polite- in fact most were repulsive and should just die. Anamist was that unusual Arrancar who desired cleanliness and proper etiquette; he had killed hollow and arrancar for a lot less than forgetting to excuse themselves proper from his presence. He was here now and in the present, his riaetsu was hidden from those except the most astute in riaetsu detection- to his knowledge, only a few such beings possessed that potential. All of which were not likely in his area or desired confrontation with him- only one person had the potential to find him not matter what, no matter how much he tried to hide.
Below him was a group of hollows and a couple adjuchtas, they were doing what he had done so many centuries ago; the process of evolution. Even now they were engaged in battle, trying desperately to win against the rest in an all-out battle. The victors would eat the losers and then restart the process with the other victors until only one of them remained. It was a barbaric process indeed, but a necessary one for any hollow's evolution- one that Anamist often exploited to his personal gain. Hollows by nature were twisted souls who couldn't reach Seiretei for some reason or another. They were lost souls and needed guidance; what better guidance could he give than give them no choice but to become part of him?
He laughed silently to himself, it was ironic that a being such as him was watching them for little amusement but for his insatiable hunger. It was true that humans tasted the best, with shinigamis being the second best- hollows tasted terrible, but much more filling. They were comprised of many souls and would temporarily sate his near-uncontrollable hunger: this way he wouldn't attack any humans against his will.
He leaned sideways suddenly as a red beam of a cero passed by his face, his previous seat had been destroyed by the cero blast and now he was standing parallel o the tree's bark. His feet rested firmly against the side of the tree as he looked straight ahead to continue his watch of the battle. The two Adjuchtas were obviously winning, already only a few hollows remained- likely the adjuchtas would work in a somewhat cohesive team until only they remained. Sure enough, after an hour; only the two Adjuchtas remained, and they were very tired from the prolonged fight. Anamist was holding his stomach, trying to hold himself back and let them decide the voctor before he moved in to eat the survivor.
The shorter Adjuchtas was a quick fellow who sported blades, while the others was a massive being who favored his fists: the little one was too quick for his slow fists to make a single solid hit. Before too long, the bigger one was too wounded to attack and wailed in protest as he small Adjuchtas ate him. The being roared with a bestial vigor as it considered itself the strongest; little did it know, a stronger being was watching it with red hungry eyes that scrutinized its every move.
After a moment for allowing proper digestion, Anamist assumed it was his turn to play; he jumped down from the tree with one step and stood before the Adjuchtas.
Congrats on your victory, that was quite the speed you displayed.
The adjuchtas tensed for a moment, but felt only the remnants to Anamist's riaetsu and assumed he was much much weaker. It brandished its bladded arms and taunted Anamist.
So, now that my main course is finished, the desert shows up!
It rushed Anamist in a hurry and slashed, it thought it had him when its blades passed through his form. Its surprise was complete when it felt nothing but air, it blinked and Anamist was no longer in front of it.
Quite rude, not even allowing me a formal introduction...
The Ajuchtas turned with a back-slash with both bladed arms, only to be stopped cold by one white gloved hand from the butler. Anamist used his other hand to shift the weight of his bone glasses as he smiled coldly at the Adjuchtas.
I...am the butler, Anamist Souigetsu. A displeasure on your part, of course.
Anamist whipped the blades around and striked the Adjuchtas with his hand, his gloved hand went straight through the chest of the Adjuchtas. The monster seemed surprised and horrified, it struggled but to no avail. Now was its turn to wail in agony as it felt Anamist's teeth sink deeply into its unprotected bone shoulder.
