Stats

The stats included would be four separate attributes. Strength, Speed, Defense, & Reiryoku

Strength: This stat will revolve around melee combat, including swords and other weapons. The higher the stat, the stronger you are physically and more adept with using weapons.

Speed: This is rather simple, it determines how fast the individual is. The only difference from the past and now is that the Speed stat solely revolves around the use of shunpo/sonido & the like of other high-speed movements. Anyone not using a highspeed movement is rather easy to see and keep track of, if someone attacks you with a regular rush or swing of a weapon- regardless of tier & powergap, you have an adequate amount of time to counter. This eliminates auto-hit & godmod. If someone uses highspeed movement or attacks, you counter with highspeed movements or attacks yourself- the success is determined on the higher speed as well as the ingenuity of each individual- this eliminates auto-hits & godmod as well.

Reiryoku This stat has to deal with not only the overall spiritual pressure of each individual, but also the use of spiritual attacks(Such as kido, cero, getsuga, elemental attacks & the like).

Defense: This is rather simple as well. The only time it comes into effect is when taking damage. The amount of damage is based on the total points in damage they take OVER their own defense. Say someone with 50 Strength punches someone with 30 Defense- the defender takes 20pts of damage. Much like our current tier system, the point system will have a guide to determine how much damage is scaled by points. That is a LOT less difficult than it sounds.

Stat Difference
So this system revolves around tiers & allocated stats. There are simple restrictions involving the stats to keep things balanced.

  • Your highest stat may only be 30pts higher than your weakest.
  • Balanced fighters(Those who specialize in using two aspects of combat such as Reiryoku+Strength as their strongest) may only be 15pts higher than their weakest stat.
  • Racial perks & boosts are not subject to the 30pt restriction.

Sample Tiers and Ranks Chart for Reference:

[ NEOPHYTE || Tier 5 ]

Weak Level [5-3]: Individuals new to their spiritual powers and fairly untrained in their use.
» Example: Sado Yasotora(Chad) when his powers first awakened.

  • A 5-3 is given a certain number of points(Undetermined at this time, so I will use 25 per tier)
  • A 5-3 is given 25pts to mitigate between his four stats(Strength, Speed, Reiryoku & Defense) of course the stats are measured in integers of 5 pts, so there will be no uneven and odd-numbers stats like 23 or 38. A member will mitigate this 25pts based on his character's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Say he wants to be stronger than he is fast, so he puts 5 points in Speed, Reiryoku & Defense, but 10pts in Strength. This has used all 25pts at 5-3 and clearly shows what he favors in stats.

Average Level [5-2]: Those who's spiritual powers are trained slightly however remain fairly undeveloped.
» Example: An average shinigami in training at the Shino Academy.

  • Alright, so the 5-3 human has tier'd up. He is now equal in strength to a shinigami being trained in the Shino Academy.
  • When ranked up to 5-2 from 5-3, he is given an additional sum of stats to use on his character.(In this case we will say 10pts) This will allow him to put that 10pts wherever he wishes for his character. 5pts in his weakness to round out his weakness, or maybe 10pts in his Strength to become that much stronger in his area of expertise(In this case, his Strength)
  • Instead of having 10pts in Strength, at 5-2, he has put his 10 tier-up stat points in his Strength, now he has 20Strength, 5 Speed, 5 Reiryoku & 5 Defense.

Strong Level [5-1]: Those who have received decent experience or training in their spiritual powers and now have a basic understanding of them.
» Example: An unseated shinigami fresh out of the academy or a fullbringer whom can summon their full bring at will.

  • Okay, so the 5-2 has tier'd up again to 5-1
  • He is given an additional 10 stat points. He sees he has a severe weakness in Speed, so he puts all 10pts in Speed.
  • He now has 20 Strength, 15 Speed, 5 Reiryoku & 5 Defense

Say he fights someone similar to his fighting style- his opponent is slightly stronger, maybe by a tier or two. His opponent has 25 Strength, 15 Speed, 5 Reiryoku & 10 Defense.(This is fighter B) Fighter A(Which is the human who has tier'd up from 5-3 all the way to 5-1 now) is attacked by fighter B.

  • Fighters A & B have equal Speed, so it is fair and partially up to the "honor code" whether Fighter B punches fighter A or not. But let's say his attack is successful right? He punches Fighter A with 25 Strength, Fighter A's Defense stat comes into play.
  • Fighter A only has 5 Defense though.
  • Fighter B's 25 Strength deducts Fighter A's 5 Defense(25-5=20) Fighter A who defends, takes 20 points of damage.
  • This 20pts of damage will be based off of a damage scale further worked out in detail.

Damage scale

Alright, so Fighter A took 20pts of damage right? A simple and easy scale will be used to help you understand how the damage is moderated to be fair.
Melee
5pts difference: Minimal at best, maybe a slight bruise.
10pts difference: Mild bruising.
15pts difference: Moderate bruising.
20pts difference: Heavy bruising.
25pts difference: Hair-fractured bone.
30pts difference: Moderate bone cracking.
35pts difference: Complete broken bone.
40pts difference: Shattered bone.
45pts difference: Pierces opponent's body.
50pts difference: Punches complete holes in opponent.

Blades
5pts difference: Minimal at best, Minor-Major lacerations.
10pts difference: Minor 1st degree.
15pts difference: Moderate 1st degree.
20pts difference: Major 1st degree(2 Inch deep)
25pts difference: Minor 2nd degree
30pts difference: Moderate 2nd degree.
35pts difference: Major 2nd degree(3 Inch deep, possible amputation)
40pts difference: Minor 2nd degree
45pts difference: Moderate 2nd degree.
50pts difference: Major 3rd degree(5 Inch deep, Likely amputation)

Elemental
Minor-small area of damage(6 inches)
Moderate- average area of damage(12 inches)
Major- large area of damage(24+ inches)

5pts difference: Noticeable discomfort.
10pts difference: Minor 1st degree
15pts difference: Moderate 1st degree.
20pts difference: Major 1st degree.
25pts difference: Minor 2nd degree
30pts difference: Moderate 2nd degree.
35pts difference: Major 2nd degree.
40pts difference: Minor 2nd degree
45pts difference: Moderate 2nd degree.
50pts difference: Major 3rd degree.

As you can see, the damage varies greatly depending on the difference in attack and defense. Given how the system works, even a much stronger opponent can take equal or greater damage depending on the two opponent's strengths/weaknesses and abilities.

AR Boosts & Fighting Style

AR Boosts are now used to boost an individual's fighting style, not their whole battle aspect. If someone specializes in Strength- their application will specify that Strength is their specialization: when using an AR boost such as Bankai- they are given a certain number of points to their fighting specialization(In this concept, a Bankai increases someone's AR by 2, which would be 20pts). The typical AR+1 is 10 stat points towards your Strongest attribute.

  • The member's Strength is increased by 20pts alone, not his other stats.

Racial Boosts

Each race, has some factor that increases its power be it releasing or their environment. These factors can increase your AR but do not stack unless stated. AR Boosts are not capped at the 30pt restriction.

Shinigami:
Shikai - The initial release. It unlocks and draws upon the power of your zanpakutou. AR +1
Bankai - The final release. It is the peak of a pure shinigami's power. AR +1(stacks with Shikai)
Incantation Kido - Shinigami of a pure soul(non-Vizard) can channel their reiatsu into concentrated spells only when used in incantations. These kido are passively boosted by AR +1 only when used in incantations.

Visoreds:
Donned Mask - Your hollow powers manifested and summoned. This stacks with shikai and bankai. AR +1

Hollows:
Spiritual Environment - The nature of Hollow powers allows them to gain power in environments rich in reishi such as Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. This stacks with other boosts but does NOT count for Arrancar. AR +1
Sated Hunger - A hollow that has recently devoured a soul of equal or greater strength than its own will gain a temporary boost that lasts 3 threads. For every additional soul of equal or greater strength devoured, the time limit resets to 5 threads but the boost does not get stronger. This boost stacks onto other boosts. +1 AR

Arrancar:
Racial Bonus - Arrancar get an innate boost due to hierro, but ONLY for defense. AR +1
Resurrección - The manifestation of your sealed hollow powers revived. AR +2
Segunda Etapa - A deeper manifestation of your sealed hollow powers. AR +1(Stacks with Resurrección)

Quincy:
Human Body - Your body isn't as tough as a spiritual one. You actually lose advantage, but ONLY when it comes to your own defense. AR -1
Vollständig - A form that allows subjugation of the reishi around the user. AR +2
Spiritual Environment - The nature of Quincy powers allows them to gain power in environments rich in reishi such as Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. This stacks with other boosts. AR +1

Fullbringers:
Human Body - Your body isn't as tough as a spiritual one. You actually lose advantage, but ONLY when it comes to your own defense. AR -1
Evoked Fullbring - This is when your powers are manifested through your fullbring medium. AR +1
Evolved Fullbring - This is the peak of your powers manifested. AR +1(stacks with Evoked Fullbringer)
Mastered Fullbring - Your powers have not only peaked, but you've fully mastered their use. AR +1(Stacks with Mastered Fullbringer)

Bounto:
Spiritual Environment - The nature of Quincy powers allows them to gain power in environments rich in reishi such as Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. This stacks with other boosts. AR +1
Doll Summoning - Your doll has been called forth to serve you. Your doll gains AR +1
Doll Fusion - You have combined with your doll and become a new life form with incredible powers. AR +3(Does not stack with doll AR Boost)

Mod Souls:
Vessel - As mod souls are made to boost the human physiology to make them strong enough to stand on equal grounds with a hollow. Inside a human body/gigai they get AR+1 physical attributes, that is both in the case of physical offense and defense.
Type - If the mod soul is a shinigami type, then it has the AR boosts for both shikai and bankai. That is AR+1 in shikai and AR+1 in bankai(Stacks with Shikai).

I addded a "Stat Difference" part under the stat explanation- this explains the limitation of a 30pt difference between their strongest and weakest stats, as well as includes a balance style.

It looks good, though my parentheses opinions will need to be removed and worded in an official manner to make it seem legit. Also, we should write out the system with every tier bracket & tier subdivision with the appropriate amount of points for each tier. Much like the Neophyte Tier 5i s described here.

Sounds good!

However, I'm a bit unsure about all the point distributions for tier. I mean, I know what you have in mind I just am iffy about writing it out since I only barely grasp it all.

[ NEOPHYTE || Tier 5 ]

Weak Level [5-3]: Individuals new to their spiritual powers and fairly untrained in their use.
» Example: Sado Yasotora(Chad) when his powers first awakened.

  • 5-3 is the weakest and starting rank for any player character.
  • 25 initial stat points.

Average Level [5-2]: Those who's spiritual powers are trained slightly however remain fairly undeveloped.
» Example: An average shinigami in training at the Shino Academy.

  • +10 stat points.

Strong Level [5-1]: Those who have received decent experience or training in their spiritual powers and now have a basic understanding of them.
» Example: An unseated shinigami fresh out of the academy or a fullbringer whom can summon their full bring at will.

  • +10 stat points.

[ IMMATURE || Tier 4 ]

Weak Level [4-3]: In this category you find those whom have gone beyond the basics and have begun to tap into their potential power.
» Example: Seated 20-15 shinigami, An Average Hollow.

  • +20 stat points.

Average Level [4-2]: Those whom have developed their powers to be considered average among most souls.
» Example: Seated 14-10 shinigami, A Fullbringer who's powers are evolving, A hollow whom has begun to eat other hollow.

  • +10 stat points.

Strong Level [4-1]: Here one finds individuals whom rise above the average and are taking the first steps into the realm of the elite.
» Example: A shinigami seated 9-4 w/shikai, A Menos Grande Gillian.

  • +10 stat points.

[ ADVANCED || Tier 3 ]

Weak Level [3-3]: In this group are the elite, seen to be stronger than most of their peers and now very close to their spiritual powers thus allowing them to access power that stands above most souls a great deal.
» Example: 3rd seat shinigami with a practiced shikai, a new Adjuchas hollow.

  • +20 stat points.

Average Level [3-2]: This rank is used to designate those whom have earned great power and usually have the authority worthy of said strength.
» Example: A fukutaichou, an average adjuchas, a Gillian made Arrancar

  • +10 stat points.

Strong Level [3-1]: Those whom earn this rank are definitely the creme of the crop so to speak. Few every reach this level of power and the number of foes whom have fallen at their hands is usually abundant.
» Example: A fukutaichou w/new bankai, a strong adjuchas, a weaker adjuchas made arrancar.

  • +10 stat points.

[ MASTER || Tier 2 ]

Weak Level [2-3]: Ah, the mighty few whom reign supreme over others, those who stand in these ranks are the best of the best and are usually in some position of authority.
» Example: A new taichou, a Vasto Lorde, an espada 10-8, Fullbringer who's powers have evolved into it's final form.

  • +20 stat points.

Average Level [2-2]: Those whom have trained their powers for countless decades and are outclassed by very few are designated here.
» Example: An average taichou, a strong vasto lorde, an espada 7-5

  • +10 stat points.

Strong Level [2-1]: Count the number of souls to have ever attained this level of power in all history and it would still be a fairly exclusive group. Here stand the few, the proud, the truly strong.
» Example: A Veteran Taichou, An ancient vasto lorde, Espada 4-1, A Fullbring Master.

  • +10 stat points.

[ VAST || Tier 1 ]

Weak Level [1-3]: Those whom rule over even the strong, beings worthy of being in charge of great warriors with vastly unmatched power of their own belong in this group. At any given time their numbers usually are so low that one can count them on both hands and still not use all digits.
» Example: Soutaichou, King/Queen of Las Noches.

  • +20 stat points.

Average Level [1-2]: Leaders and legends of their time, those of this level could see centuries fly by without meeting a challenge they could not handle. Putting the power these few hold into words could never do their strength justice.
» Example: Captains Promoted to Royal Gaurd,

  • +10 stat points.

Strong Level [1-1]: Beings whose powers transcend all comprehension belong here, they are gods among mortals and have little to no peers. However like a flame burning itself out; power of this level cannot be maintained permanently. Eventually those whom stand here will fall. Their powers, having reached the peak of this dimensions limits, collapse upon themselves and are reduced to nothing.
» Example: Final Getsuga Ichigo

  • +10 stat points.

Every tier up gets +10 except when they obtain a new tier bracket. When obtaining a new tier bracket(such as tier 2 to tier 1) they get +20. This coupled with their racial perks allows each individual to become respectively strong in their own areas of expertise.

At a Tier of 1-1, the member has 205 stat points divided between their 4 stats. Ideally, there would be roughly 50pts in each area, but their expertise in combat would change this slightly. Given that their strongest stat may only be 30pts higher than their weakest stat- it is extremely likely that their strongest stat would be 80pts with their weakest stat 20pts. A strong but delicate build- while they can deal a lot of damage, they would also be more prone to taking higher damage. This give combat a more realistic take on battle.

Yu-chan, I have edited your first post to reflect the system we should be releasing to the forum. As is, unless someone has objections, we could release this now & have the members alter their stats appropriately.

Also, I added a damage scale ratio by 50pts for both elemental & bladed attacks as well. Now we have melee, elemental & blade damage covered.

Also, I reworded the AR racial boosts slightly to be more clear about stacking AR boosts.

I see no issues in this.  seems rather fair and doable.  We would just need to update the apps and such and have people update the information on stats as well.

I dislike the complexity of it and once again the over-regulation of members RP abilities. It's condescending and rather insulting and makes for rather predetermined bouts. Not saying a 3-1 should beat a 2-1 but I'm also not willing to imply a 2-2 should be dashing circles around a 2-3 either. Then again I also disagree with the current tier system. So it's very hard to draw good parallels. But as someone who implemented them here in the first place, as well as RPed using them for 4 years? You're severely over-doing these. And if staff not wanting to become involved is the problem allow me to be the first to volunteer to solve any and all disputes in character. I seriously hope we don't need regulated this sharply to maintain a steady RP environment.

This system is by far, very simple. The stats determine their character's fighting style in combat based on their character application. This promotes continuity between a character's application & RP skills, as well as gives a general guideline to determine difference in skills in specific areas and damage.

But I digress. If you and the others can create something more effective & less conflicting, then by all means bring it out & implement it. Seeing as it has yet to be used by anyone in an actual combat thread, you cannot say yes or no to it just because it is similar to the previous stat system we had. That system was flawed for several reasons- including all of the favoritism, Mastery system, & a few other variables that severely unbalanced that system. This system partially revolves around the use of stats yes, but it is equally about RP skill and character abilities & techniques. The last system was all stats, this system has stats but it s a 50/50 base for stats and RP ability. But I don't need to defend what was made here. Seeing as this system was implemented, this thread should be closed- a discussion regarding the Pros & Cons of this system compared to another provided system should be made into a separate thread.
