#1Isshin's first assignment. Empty Isshin's first assignment. Mon Jun 24, 2019 11:42 pm

Isshin would be double checking that he has everything he needs with him since this will be the first time he's going to the World of the Living as not only an official shinigami, but also as 3rd seat of Squad 13 so he needs to make sure that he is prepared.

Once he has everything needed to go to the world of the living, he would approach the gate and steps through once it's open, soon finding himself on a rooftop of a building, the view comprised many buildings, even a road that seems to have building that looks to be of Oriental persuasion along with seeing a sign that said Beverly Hills with an arrow pointing down a road, a moment later he remembers that the briefing mentioned a coastal city called Los Angeles.

Before doing anything else, Isshin would start with moving through the city, learning the layout and any landmarks to keep track of if he gets lost.

On my travels, I entered a city named "Los Angeles". Most people could tell you that the name meant "City of Angels", but I saw none here. If I didn't know any better, I'd have suspected the reverse to be true. Not like there were devils, right? As I approached the hillish area of Beverly.... that wasn't very hilly.... I could see bits of the ocean. If it weren't for the many buildings and roads, and the complete lack of any serious hills and cliffs, I'd have thought it home. It soon however became clear to me that I was no longer here for pleasure, as I felt a significant presence near me. I couldn't tell where it was from, but it still beared on me like a heavy weight. On top of that, I looked down to realize that in my deep thought, I was no longer walking on solid ground, but the air....

The hell? I was now a bit afraid to move, for fear of ruining the magic of me being suddenly able to move in midair.... "Uh, help?"

Isshin would be moving around, hoping from rooftop to rooftop, soon hearing someone call out for help, he looks to the direction of where the call came from.

What? That's odd.... It looked like a human that's standing in the air, just floating there, he would use Shunpo to move his way up to the human, trying to figure out what's going on with him, then looking to the human, waving his hand infront of the person to make sure that the man can see him.

"Hello? Can you hear and/or see me?"

The presence drew closer, as I realized it wasn't meaning any harm. In fact, it seemed concerned, as it would indicate by speaking. The man that soon appeared before me in the blink of an eye greeted me and asked if I could see him, not that I was sure what kind of a question that was. I've never met something I couldn't see. "Aye, I can see ye. I seem to have gotten meself into a rather odd predicament... The whole standing on nothing thing is new to me." I mean it was cool, but without control it felt more scary than neat.

Isshin would blink, almost surprised that this person can not only hear him, but see him as well, normal humans shouldn't be able to see him..... He wasn't expecting to meet a human that can see him since he's a spirit.
"ah alright, just look to one of the buildings..... And imagine your floating to it"

In all his honesty, he didn't know how this person got up here but he's going to do his best to assist him, he will have to add this to his report when he gets back to Soul Society.

The man chuckled, thought about it, and gave me directions a simple child could follow, so I picked a building out in the distance.... A tall one, but one far away so I'd theoretically only move up a little bit... I had to take a deep breath before I did anything so to soothe my nerves. Then, I took a step, and yet even though there was no earth beneath my feet, I stayed put. It was a process that I'd probably have to learn in detail, but it was a start. "Thank you.... uh.. I have no idea what your name is, I'm sorry." A sheepish gaze was thrown in his direction, displaying openly that I felt a bit bad.

Isshin watches, making sure that if the person did take a step, he can try to catch the human..... Wait could he even do that?

Seeing that the person got to the building, Isshin relaxes as he moves to the building the person went to as he adjusts the Zanpaktou that's holstered to his uniform, hearing there persons question.

"Ah, my name is Isshin Miamoto, umm.... Not alot of people can see me, at least no normal human can see me or even hear me. So might I ask for your name?"

As I turned around, it felt a little awkward to walk, as my elevation varied, and I was unsure of my footing, but I managed to stay upright. That's a start, right? The man seemed to adjust his uniform for some reason, perhaps out of habit, and introduced himself as Isshin Miamoto. Which immediately reminded me... "Wait a bleedin' minute, I forgot to introduce meself! Me name's Kin Baird, I'm probably not a human... no I'm sure I'm not. Still trying to figure that one out.." I'd have bowed in an attempt to apologize and my instinct was to revert to a bad habit of mine, rubbing the back of my head whilst trying to appear competent. At this point I feared it was a bit late for that...

Isshin would cross his arms as he listens to the person introduce himself as Kin Baird, watching carefully as Isshin is ready to catch this person if they accidentally lose concentration and falls, hearing the statement that Kin is not exactly human, Isshin would look confused.

"Then might I ask what you are exactly, for I assume you haven't met a Shinigami before."

He waits for Kin's response as he goes to sense for any hollows or anything else out of the ordinary other than the person infront of him.

As the man crossed his arms, I remained unsure of his judgement of me. To be fair, to someone who knew what any well-trained shinigami might probably know, my entire story might sound bloody ridiculous. To add to this, the man asked me what exactly I was, to which I could only say "That, I don't know, and uh... I think I may have met a shinigami, not sure about that either. I wish I knew, all things considered. If I did, I might have some idea of how to do simple things like this whole walking on air thing... or uh... Wait a second, how'm I supposed to get down?"

The man, all the while looked like he was on the lookout for something. His robes recalling a familiarity in me, I spoke again, "Wait... do all shinigami wear those robes? Am I keeping you from something important, like a mission or job perhaps?" I suddenly felt bad for being a burden on someone who was probably here on important business, and I'd kept them for several minutes. In fact, if he too was a shinigami... then that may have meant.... he might have been hunting one of those things, and therein lives might be in danger. Great.
