Taigen shuffled anxiously on the spot. he didn't know why he was here all he knew is that he was going to have to fight the next person to walk through the doors.

He stood there in the centre of a perfectly circular room it was around 200 meters in Diameter, and if he were to guess maybe 3 stories tall. The walls seemed to be made of Sekkiseki. Damn it, no easy way out, maybe the sandy ground hid away out, but something told Taigen that who ever had built this place wouldn't have been to careless.

All he could do was stand there, both swords drawn, waiting for whom ever was going to be his opponent.

Waking up half buried in sand had to be Shiori's least favorite way to wake up with no memory. She also wasn't a fan of the circular room with obscenely high walls and no obvious exits. Getting to her feet was a bit shakey, as she brushed sand from her robes. If it was in her clothes, it was definitely in her hair. Great.

As it also so happened, as she noticed while dusting herself off, there was someone else inside the room with her. While she was happy he looked familiar, she was nervous that he had his weapons out. Nervously grabbing the handle of her Zanpakuto, she squinted to see if she could remember his name by his face.

Well shit. Why'd they have to go and drag this kid into all of this? 'Life really is a bitch,' Taigen grumbled to himself, he had been hoping he would just be dropped into a fight with a hollow and not another shinigami. Calling out to Shiori "C'mon then kid, let's get this over with, the sooner we're done here the sooner I can get a drink."

Lifting his twin swords and taking a defensive stance, he studied her carefully looking for any sign of approach. He dug his feet into the sandy floor, keeping his stance solid as he prepared for any attack that may come his way.

"Well if this isn't complete bullshit." Shiori muttered to herself. The situation had already proven itself to be far from favorable, and she was starting to think that they wouldn't be able to leave until one of the was dead or knocked out. Slowly drawing her blade, she eyed her opponent's stance. He was ready for a fight to the death, even if he was a bit remorseful. Light glinted off the blade of her Zanpakuto, mist rising from the cold steel.

"We both seem to be aware that one of us likely wont be able to leave until one of us is dead or down. Should we just speed this up and unseal our Zanpakuto? It'd be a chance to show off. Maybe end this as quickly as possible."

"You go ahead if that's how you want to do this, just know I'm not gonna be goin' easy on ya." Spinning the blade in his left hand into a reverse grip. He extended his index finger towards Shiori, "Sorry but you took too long. Hado Number 1: Sho!" A blast of kinetic energy flew forth from his outstretched finger toward the younger shinigami. He started a sprint forward behind the shot of energy hoping to capitalise on any opening it may grant.
