ORI KONOE
Mercurial Nightmare
A long time ago...
It was a moody, stormy day over Seireitei, complimenting Ori's currently sour mood. The young Vice Captain had a scowl on his face as he marched through the division compound. Why was it when he needed his Captain he was always impossible to find?
He finally got a tip from one of the unseated shinigami that Captain Nashi had retreated to Lab 12 and that darkened his mood. It was the one place that Ori, being a vice captain, couldn't just show up. Lab 12 was restricted to the captain and only the captain, it being the place for his most ethically and legally sensitive work. It was so locked down he couldn't even send a Hell Butterfly in there, so he resigned himself to waiting outside the kido barrier barricading access to the building. The gray sky taunted him from above, threatening to rain at any second. All he wanted to do was give a report.
It was on days like this that he especially found himself cursing his captain. Greatness was barely out of his reach and Kokoro Nashi stood in the way. But that was neither here nor there; Ori was content to play the willing underling until the day arrived that he could destroy him, if only to prove that he was superior. After having served for decades, he did really wish that day would come along a little faster though...
