What sucked about working for the squad that provided internal security services was that it was hard to mentally "clock out," even when it had been ages since one actually performed that particular function. Now a 4th seat, Shuya commanded a lot more respect than what would be afforded to a security officer, yet the days of patrolling still haunted him. It was the Seireitei, still, that they were in, after all. That wouldn't change, and Shuya would remain vigilant to what was around him, even when he was trying to relax.

So with an exasperated sigh he leaned back on the bench, looking up at the sky and willing his annoyance to go up where none had gone before. It didn't of course. The only thing that happened was that passers-by and others spending time in this particular public space gave him a glance of annoyance, or perhaps concern for his well being, and then moved on with their lives. The annoyance didn't leave. It remained within him, and, after taking a deep breath, Shuya looked forward, pretending nothing at all had happened.

Perhaps it had been too early to call it quits on training today. Clearly, Shuya was losing his mind.

Azayaka had no pressing matters to attend to, so she went for a stroll around the Seireitei. She loved the days when she could just hang out. It was peaceful as usual, perhaps too peaceful? From around a wall, she could hear an exasperated sigh. Approaching it, she saw a young man sitting alone on a bench. Feeling a bit playful, she walked over and asked, "What's eating you?" The male's face wasn't familiar, not that she knew everyone, but she had been around for quite some time. Although her tone was friendly, history nearly ensured that her face looked annoyed.

Shuya looked over at the woman who came around the corner after she spoke to him. He didn't know this person - and she seemed annoyed, if the look on her face was anything to go by, even if her tone seemed amicable. He decided to not waste her time too much, keeping his answer brief. It was perhaps best to not vent to a complete stranger. "It's nothing," he remarked, "I'm just on edge today, for some reason. Can't seem to get out of work mode."

He shook his head, chuckling. "Sorry -- I sound like a fucking lunatic, huh?. Name's Kitakaze, 4th seat 2nd squad. You?"

Azayaka watched as the boy studied her face. He quickly realized they hadn't met before and that she suffered from resting bitch face. When he spoke, he explained that he could not escape "work mode"; Azayaka nodded in understanding. It was a common phenomenon. He then tried to dismiss his troubles and introduced himself as a member of the Second Squad. (He's probably on edge all the time.) She thought before responding. "Kyoraku, resident freelancer, and you sound overworked." She deliberately used that phrase, knowing it would likely confuse him; however, she didn't plan on explaining it. Not that she was ashamed of her squad or position; it just wasn't something she brought up in casual conversation. "If you can't relax in a familiar area, try going where no one knows you." She suggested.

Shuya leaned back. He wasn't quite sure what a "resident freelancer" was, for one, but also, maybe her advice was warranted. Still, he was left a little perplexed. "This is the Seireitei, though. It's... difficult to find somewhere where you don't know anyone, right? I suppose if I went into the Rukongai then I could accomplish that, but then there's a whole song and dance about going into the Rukongai..." He mused. Clearly that wasn't the right path. Perhaps he could go into the World of the Living? But again, why would he?

"I appreciate your advice..." He smiled hopelessly. "But I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it. Would you mind, er, clarifying?"

Azayaka grinned a little as the male began to respond to her suggestion. She could see the wheels turning in his mind, but ultimately his imagination failed. The hopeless smile that came with it was saddening. Luckily, Azayaka was happy to elaborate on this subject. "It's simple actually-" She stared. "Leave your uniform, go to the area you visit least, and be anyone other than yourself." With that said, Vivi probably seemed like the crazy one. "I'd be happy to show you so you get the full enjoyment." She smiled, definitely not up to no good; she just liked seeing people let loose.

Shuya looked at her with surprise, his tilted face showing only confusion. [color:e721=#c55]"Leave my uniform...? What? What do you mean...?"

He'd basically never had reason not to be in his uniform, day-to-day, workaholic as he was. For the last he-didn't-even-know-how-many years, his day had been composed of either working or being ready to work. But now, in his current position, he had more free time, and he just didn't know what to do with it.

Be anyone other than himself though... Shuya was sure the expression was "Be yourself." But he supposed that in this case, her use of the expression was more correct.

Azayaka mentally facepalmed while physically placing her fingers on her temple. This one was going to be a piece of work. "Let's go. We're doing this right now." Hopefully, the guy had an acceptable outfit to switch into. If not, they could always take a trip to the World of the Living for a quick shopping trip. Although she planned to have him start in Seireitei, the fast pace of the Human World might be a better experience. "I'm not taking no for an answer. You won't be able to do your job properly if you're full of pent-up energy." She might not look it, but Azayaka was just as strong as any man, so if she had to drag this guy. It'd be easy, though getting physical was a last resort.

Shuya balled, suddenly very nervous. "Go?!" He asked, completely and utterly bamboozled. "Go where??"

He followed her, mostly out of fear of what would happen if he didn't. This freelancer lady seemed hellbent on doing... Whatever it is she wanted to do.

Despite the preceding discussion, Shuya wasn't a complete square. He could blend in at the world of the living well enough, so if needed, he would show up in a black hoodie and jeans. The only thing that stood out were possibly his ear piercings or the silver necklace he wore. Either way, it was all very simple, but comfortable, and ordinary enough to blend in. Just the way he liked it.

"First of all, we have to get you something casual to wear." She paused briefly to decide if going to the World of the Living would be better after all. She wanted to keep him in a somewhat familiar surrounding, however, it might turn out to be a crutch. The pair would split to change outfits, then reconvene to open their own senkaimon. The male's outfit was basic but acceptable. His jewelry hinted at his true personality, which made Vivi happy. Her outfit was a tad flashy despite being all black as well. She wore a cropped t-shirt under a short-sleeved button-up crop top. With cargo pants and sandals, her accessories consisted of three necklaces, two bracelets, rings on both hands, and earrings in both ears. "Shall we get lunch?" She asked with a smile.
