Izanami turned her eyes down when he said he was willing to listen as she drew her hands from her pockets and rubbed them against her face as if preparing herself for the story she was about to tell. She didn't take a seat with him but rather tilted her head back to the stars while placing her hands behind her head. She said nothing for a long while as her human life etched its way through her mind. It seemingly clouded her eyes before she closed them allowing herself to take in the calm of the night for what it was as it surely wasn't going to stay like that for long.
"I died...eons ago it seems like. It was when the Yakuza had rule over a lot of the land. I was living in Kagamino city, not that I had the choice...it hardly felt like I was living at all[/color]" she trailed off before tilting her head down, " My parents had been in debt from my father's gambling and paid in flesh rather than money. They're alive but had traded me in return for clearing their debts...I started out as a pick-pocket. Using my girlish charm on tourists visiting the city, and asked them to help me find my parents. When they would look up and around I would take their money to meet my quota. However, by the time I was fourteen...fifteen maybe..." she clenched her fists and closed her eyes once more as her nails dug into the flesh of her palm.
"I became a geisha for the local boss... I was bathed in jewels and fine clothing, but even if I was dressed like royalty I was hardly treated as such. The geisha now-a-days are a fine evolution from what the Yakuza had made the name to be..." she sighed bringing a hand to her forehead as though the topic was giving her a headache and it truly was, "I had to do everything they asked for. Cook for them, clean for them, wash them. Anything you think of I had to do without protest...and they made sure to start me off young," the bitterness behind the last of her words had her choke on them a little bit. Making her move her hand to her mouth as she took several moments to collect herself.
Shaking her head she heaved a heavy sigh before wrapping up with a quickness. Seemingly she was exhausted by telling her story. It had truly been the first time she had told anyone. Then again there hadn't been many around willing to listen, "When they no longer had a use for me they passed me around like a rag till I had finally gave up hope and wished to die...and I got exactly what I asked for. No one knew I was dead for weeks until I was found by a hotel maid. My body was naked in its own blood. ..Betrayed by the people I thought were going to take care of me. I festered in that room as a spirit for what seemed like only seconds before I turned hollow from my anger at my parents, and the yakuza, and myself for being so weak...I didn't stand a chance at being saved and going to the soul society...that's why I have no respect for humans. I was a child...and they hurt me...as a woman I was merely a body...I saw many people being treated like they had no soul. Anyone who wasn't killing was a slave. We were not people to our bosses...we were pawns. What kind of respect can you find in that?" she asked her voice sounding broken by the end of her story the respect she held for herself seemingly gone and the persona she projected seemingly shattered as she returned to the soul she had been all those years ago for a moment. Broken down and hopeless just wishing to die.
Izanami shook her head before taking in a deep breath as though she had been holding it and returning to the person Cross knew her to be, "Took out a boss or two in my day, though, that's ultimately why they killed me. Poison in their drinks or metal in their sushi..." she smirked out before looking around trying to change the subject quickly as though the story she just told him hadn't been something deeply personal, "Where are these soul society fools? You're pouring your reiatsu out so much that its even making me uneasy" she drawled lifting her nose to the air to try and get a reading of someone else, but with Number 3 being so close and letting so much out all she could smell was decaying bodies, "I would say lets snack on a soul, but I know you don't like doing that...so may I snack on a soul or would that offend you? I'm sure they would come running after that." she snickered out she turning her back to the water and Cross and began pacing towards an un-expecting couple.
