Unfortunately for Anamist, his last will and testament would be all for naught. Though Cross only nullified the energy containing Manda, and not the ambient spears of death and destruction, Piedra had not lost sight of those weapons or forgotten about Anamist's underhanded manner of fighting. It just made Piedra all the more mad to still see Anamist maintain those weapons around Manda.
"Don't care huh?" Piedra noted, realizing that, despite the fact that Manda was being held hostage, Cross fought with all his might anyway. He was enjoying the battle, probably more than he should have. When the bomb was dropped, and Cross turned his attention back to whatever was supposed to be left of Anamist, Piedra saw those energy weapons move.
Piedra had been on his way to Manda, wishing to destroy the very orb that Cross had easily done himself. He hadn't expected Cross to end the technique. Piedra wasn't going to think that the action was a little cool looking. He justified his restraint of his admiration with Cross' messy haste. He didn't completely nullify the technique before returning his attention back to his opponent.
Piedra was faster now. He had released and became as red as the molten lifeblood of the human's planet. He has spikes and a tail and sharp claws and a jagged maw making him look almost like a cherry beast-man. His power was radiating, as warm as a steady blaze and as brilliant as a stellar star. Now, all he had to do was make sure he didn't waste this attempt and allow the dirty tricks to hit perfectly.
Manda was surrounding, leaving her no room to escape unscathed from the center of those homing projectile weapons...But, from the outside, there was plenty of room to enter. As they flew towards Manda, aiming to tear her to pieces, Piedra grabbed two of the weapons, and, when he was close enough, would close his eyes as he forced every ounce of his power to erupt outwards.
"Volcan!" He exclaimed, a sphere of red, powerful energy blasting outwards to create a sphere around Piedra. The sphere was made for a few reasons. The main one was to throw back and away the spheres, causing the weapons to ram into Piedra's burning sphere and apply a slight resistance against them. In short, the arrows meant to tear asunder the entrapped Manda met a rushing wind aiming to throw them off course or cause them, where they able, to detonate. Should they have erupted, releasing their focused power, that sphere would have supplied a steady cushion for Peidra, weakening their eruptive power on top of their penetrating force. In either case, it gave Manda more than enough time to, if she were paying close attention, to Sonido under Piedra, where he was manhandling the lances, and escape their targeting for enough time to flee or counter attack to protect herself some.
The lances coming for Manda's back, which would likely fly straight, would likely pierce Piedra instead if Manda took the opening he gave her. The Volcan, or a sphere of high-rage, high-energy, high-power, that surrounded Piedra was strong, one of his bests, but the lances were made by an Arrancar older and a bit stronger than he was, so its ability to hold the weapons back, away, or to resist their explosive powers would only assist Piedra so far. The Volcan was simply made to give Manda an opening, by pushing the lances back and away, when he entered from their rear as they were flying for Manda's life and Piedra would absolutely succeed in that area. However, the "after" that came the moment Manda would have Sonido'd away would be left for Piedra to muscle. Lances likely wanting to get passed or through him for her or that would try to whizz away or around him...In short, Piedra instead could be the one to be shreaded.
Unfortunate, Anamist was likely no longer capable of maintaining or controlling the weapons and they, surely, wouldn't last long enough to really do much after Piedra saved Manda aside maybe stabbing him once or twice with the ones furthest away from his Volcan. Manda would be saved, through Piedra's efforts, and Piedra wouldn't receive a wound fatal enough to kill him.
Anamist's underhanded, dirty tactics had failed.
