Having called Keoni here and brought Ash, it was about time Cobalt explained to them both just what the final mission was. Cobalt had been given Keoni's services, not too long after they first met, and was giving Ash his as well for compensation for collateral damages, however, Cobalt was sure that Ash was here out of curious interest above all other factors. Both of them were. Keoni, who offered to work for free, had intentions that Cobalt had yet to realize.
Cobalt would have just got off his cellphone, pocketing the device. The three of them were standing on a building on the outskirts of town. They had a target this time. The target's name was Claus and he was a man of an undefined character profile. That meant, there was so little information about him in various government databases, but there was one thing in particular about that man. He was born in a distant country and had some possible relations to an underdeveloped nation that worshiped something known as a Deer Devil. Just getting that much information was difficult, the people don't tell outsiders much, but the years didn't match up. What he found out and tied to Claus was over 100 years old. More reasearch, some of it not exactly the most logical, left Cobalt to the final conclusion.
Vampire. Just like the Devil of Sound, this Deer Devil was another vampire. Twins of the same race and just as dangerous. Unfortunately, Cobalt didn't have the massive back-up plan that he had with the Devil of Sound. This Vampire was going to require a direct approach because, what Cobalt needed was something that was likely extremely precious to the Vampire. Each and every Vampire, as per the specific myth Cobalt researched, has a favored item. An item they cherish more than anything in the world. A totem of their existence.
Cobalt had to steal this weapon of favor from the Vampire, without dying, and he had limited assistance. He couldn't go in there with an army, not that a massive group of humans would prove all that useful, so the small group of three was fine. However, Cobalt was still completely aware that there would still likely be some sort of power difference between the two.
"The enemy is a Vampire. If they bite you they will suck your soul out. Though, that is a minor problem when backed by their mind manipulative abilities and their supernatural magic. Be cautious, plain and simple." Cobalt would say, not actually aware that he had a certain Vampire in his little entourage at this moment. "The mission," Cobalt would turn to look at Ash and Keoni, "Is to acquire a metal staff. He'll likely have it with him," That was it. That was all they had to do. It sounded a lot easier than it was.
Cobalt turned around again, crossing his arms. They were only a few dozen yards from Claus' home. He probably didn't know that they were planning to ambush him and, perhaps, maybe he was completely aware. Cobalt was absolutely sure that he would be there, in that home, at this time. Now, it was just time to start it.
"Let's start," Simple. Time to go. With that, Cobalt would jump off the top of the building and jump in the air. It was the best way to travel without making noise.
