Cubix

Cubix
"Hm?" Light? Something was strangely familiar with that man that was addressing him. What was it about that enormous bow that he materilized that brought back some distance sensation. Was it possibly anxiety? No. He knew he wasn't anxious. As the person that radiated a strangely familiar aura, it was evident that aim of that bow was for his own heart. There was time to evade, even now as the flaring light of the energy started to build up. However, after that hot, searing blade was shot from that bow as an destructive, hungry inferno escape may not be as easy to manage.

"Celer" The words were were strong, despite being said casually. There was some incredible force behind those words. Before the arrow had been fired, in the mere seconds it took for Grimm to summon his bow, jump in the air, build his energy, pull back that cord and release his attack his target had already planned his own evasive escape.

The explosion that sounded shook the nearby buildings as fires roared and the hard blacktop underfoot was clawed into by that incredible shot. Fast, strong, and absolutely fast. The attack hit nothing but the ground in it's path as the Demon moved so fast that he was 3 yards behind Grimm. The movement was probably noticed by the Quincy, though it was fast regardless.

"And who are you-" He said, though it sounded like a curious question about Grimm, "To insinuate my desires? You appear to be nothing more than a mere mortal before my eyes, yet you think to know what I deserve? How humorous," He closed his eyes slowly, his breathing was very relaxed and he lowered his head slightly. "Natural Order." He played with those words, trying to fully comprehend what a human had saying such a thing.

"Don't try to preach something to me you know nothing about, mortal," He opened his eyes quick and found himself smirking. He was amused. Highly amused. "A nice villain like you wouldn't know the true meaning of those words you use so carelessly," There was something. Some incessant chirping. Over and over. The chirping wouldn't stop. It was like a bird that you just wanted to grasp in your hands and squeeze the life of.

"Boy," His eyes looked over to Keoni, that amused smirk growing to become a devious smile, "Why does it bother you so much? I don't need any reason to kill some mortal, if that makes you feel any better. Just as you humans carry no logic in your endless destruction, I have no reason to execute something I feel should stop moving," He was going off on a tangent. Why was he here in the first place? He didn't make himself known to explain just what manner of being he was or the reasoning behind his actions. No. He was here for himself and not all of these others.

"You," His amused look fell into an almost more serious expression. His deep, bright, warm eyes were now fully directed upon Tazuma, the only Captain here. "I'm looking for something. Why don't you assist in my finding it?"

Grimm wasn't quite sure what to assume of the situation. The fact was, the demon was fast enough to dodge his attack. Second fact? He had used a technique to do it. Now either this was the demon showing off, or it was necessity. Grimm could feel a distinct difference in their power levels. Grimm was slightly stronger, and had a raw advantage. Perhaps the speed boost was necessary. Smirking, the Quincy straightened himself up. Turning to face the Demon, for he HAD seen the movement, Grimm relaxed slightly. He saw no threat here. Not yet, anyway.

"You are a demon. Having been given that status, you are the sinner here. Not me. It's my job to protect the ones that can't protect themselves. It's your job to destroy them. Clearly, it is our destiny to clash." Releasing his grip on the bow, the weapon disappeared, spirit molecules breaking apart and sifting into the winds. Pulling off his mekkayu, Grimm twisted the silver ring until it split apart. "But now that we're so close... I see no reason to continue using my bow." Slipping one half on each hand, Grimm materialized his weapon once more. Instead of a bow, however, staves appeared. Each was ended with the same dragon head that ended his bow earlier. In fact, they looked just like his previous bow, only split in half.

Holding one in each hand, Grimm twirled them in practice. "How dare you attempt to reprimend me for my actions? You've had your chance. In case you haven't noticed, Mr. Toasty, I'm not the one who spent centuries in Hell! But maybe this will remind you of that." There was a dull hiss as Grimm pointed both staff heads towards the enemy. From each mouth, a jet of flame erupted forward. Spraying the are with twin streams of fire that extended fifteen feet, Grimm was damn near sure one of them would hit the demon, even if it was only a little bit. After all, Cubix was only 9 feet away.

"Hey kid... Why don't you go sit somewhere quietly. Captain Tazuma, if you would be so kind as to get him out of here, I'd appreciate it." Not looking away from his enemy, Grimm rattled off towards the spectators, hoping that one of them would listen to him.

Such a hideously malevolent.... and expected answer. There was no reason. All these killing a few powerful people were commiting was senseless. However, as the man continued to explain himself -with that crass smile adorning his face- he actually did give a reason. The murderer just thought that humans, He also has abilities..?, should die. "It's called Genocide." Keoni said, no longer yelling. A bitterness laced his tone; he had existed for so long... known of so many mercilessly genocides corrupted by egotistic people with a god complex. "That is a reason in itself..." He muttered under his breath.

Cops... wouldn't do in this situation, would they? Although, calling the cops could possibly break up this... "scene". "It bothers me because it's senseless, merciless killing!" Keoni howled, his voice becoming a little scratchy from his rampant screaming. Why..? Is there only reaction to kill this an.? Keoni pondered. Did they not feel a horrible consuming them at the sight of two dead people, painted in their own scarlet blood? Did they not feel empathy for the family who would eventually have to indentify their son? Or... even for the poor human that would find the murder seen and be tramatized for life..? Was the extent of these men's caring was to kill... to avenge..? That wasn't pity, that wasn't even sympathy! It was murder the men attacking the murderer thought was justified! It made Keoni sick...

Keoni held Lorelei to his chest. "How crazy, right..?" He mumbled under his breath to her. Keoni began backing away, until he was standing on the sidewalk... He wanted to be away from the battle but he wanted to keep these people in sight. After all, Keoni might eventually end up stepping into the fight to crease this crazy battle. Wasn't there some jail, somewhere that this man could be reabilated at? Killing the murderer wasn't the answer; that was avoiding the main issue! Oh no... was that man really going to move him somewhere safe?! "No!" Keoni called out as he held out his hand and soon... a pillow materalized in it. Keoni chucked the overstuffed pillow at the man to avoid being swooped up and taken way. There was nothing wrong with that "heroic" action, but that would achieve nothing. After all, those humans might still be barely hanging on...

While scurring towards the dead humans, Keoni reached into his jacket's pocket and removed a pair of cobalt gloves. He placed them over his hands and scurried over to the bodies... Might as well check if they were alive. He didn't want to just stand there and do nothing, while the old man and the child were actually still alive and slowly dying... Keoni reached his fingers towards the child's neck and went to check his pulse, following suit... He went to check the old man's. I should call an ambulance. Even if there's no pulse... they might be able to... His attention on the hyprocitical battle had disappeared and instead, Keoni called an ambulance. That was a much better use of his time! Maybe these humans would be lucky and doctors could save them in time... Keoni would just have to hope for the best.

Cubix

Cubix
"Honestly," Cubix just heard so much human blather that he just wanted to kill himself. These creatures were so insufferable sometimes. Genocide? As if Cubix cared enough to go about killing entire groups of humans, nor was an extinction something that he felt like expending his time on.

"Humans just get more and more stupid..." Cubix thought, his eyes on the apparently motivated Quincy that was adamant about fighting. Destiny to clash? That was the best part of it all. Did this human think that he was that special? That worthy of attention? Did that human think that Cubix cared that it was even really talking? Cubix didn't and wouldn't. Cubix had far more important matters to attend too. Attending to the ego of an inflated, naive, self absorbed human was not how Cubix imagined wasting his evening.

"Rise, Orbis Terrarum." Cubix calmly motioned an opened palm towards the jets of fire that were flaring towards his body. He didn't look worried, anxious or even angered. He held his hand there, almost inviting, in Grimm's direction and the ground cracked. From the hard black street came 6 short pillars in the path of the twin flamethrowers. They came up, the ones closest to Cubix rising first, and the last was directly under where Grimm was currently standing. The pillars would block the fire from Cubix's body while attacking Grimm from below and pretty fast too.

When the attack was finished, if not destroyed, it would end to make stairs that were 10 feet at the shortest and 25 feet at the tallest with the shortest directly infront of Cubix and they were solid rectangular blocks of rock.

Celer With that, there was that familiar burst of speed in which his body was propelled forward. All that was left behind was a tuft of grassblades. This time, Cubix would use his power to get away from them both. He wouldn't get that much away, there was a limit to how far he could travel with only a single Celer, but he was far enough to be out of the range of those potential flames and he was next to a building off to the side of where they were aimed.

If those pillars of earth were not destroyed by Grimm they would collapse now. "Human, I don't know if you know about who I really am," Cubix was speaking under the assumption that, after that one attack that the Quincy would pause. If the Quincy immeadeatly attacked after dodging he would be able to hit Cubix. "However, if I were to understand you right you are a being that believes it is just. And you," he would only offer a short glance to Tazuma, "As well," Cubix's attention returned to Grimm's position, "Then you fail to realize that you are at a terrible disadvantage," Cubix would state smooth and easy. Cubix would lightly touch the building that he was next too and it would collapse.

There were humans inside that building. A family of 4, one of which was a toddler. What was worse was that all this rubble was falling straight for Keoni, who resisted and distanced himself from Tazuma's attempted grab, to the point that he would be crushed. Now, there was a problem. Did Grimm and the others know about the family inside, because Cubix did know. If they did, would they be fast enough to save a building that was already about crushed? Even if they did choose the family over Keoni, they were already skewered beyond quick repair. Too bad.

"I could kill at least 100 humans every 10 seconds. 25 every 15 seconds if you pressure me, though I could still kill more than a handful even if you could destroy me. Will you all me to speak, or will this city flood in the blood of your kind?" A simple ultimatum. Cubix, who manipulated earth and rock, could crush so many humans at once that it wasn't even funny. So, why test him? If Grimm was that emotionally affected by only two, then Cubix would rip Grimm's heart to pieces if he didn't calm down and lower his weapons. "I have only one thing to say and it is swift and not to you," Those words were said with a slight smirk, a devious and sadistic sort of smirk. "Once I have said what I have to say, I will make myself scarce. Simple." It really was.

What was Grimm going to do? Push his luck and fight Cubix thinking that every building that Cubix would bring down that he and Tazuma and, hell, Keoni would be able to save the innocent lives within? What if Cubix brought down buildings that were further away or very tall? What about hospitals and schools? Would they be enough to handle that? What's a few kids and sickly if they could kill such a dangerous demon, right? Why not just cut their losses? A sacrifice for the greater good, right? They were free to choose whatever they wished, though Cubix was already almost certain he knew which they would decide.

Grimm didn't like humans dying, didn't he? Why put so many lives in danger for nothing other than boosting his own pride?

Good, the kid was safe. Grimm didn't want him here for what he was about to do. It was dangerous, rash, and most likely fatal. But it didn't matter.

From beneath the two combatents, pillars rose up, blocking Grimm's fire and lifting him, too, into the air. Placing a platform beneath his feet, it actually blocked the pillar from directly touching him, although allowing it to lift him up. Watching the demon bounce around like a coward, Grimm's eyes focused.

Snapping open the moment the building was demolished, the quincy in his blood demanded answers and justice. From behind him, Grimm unlatched two metal tubes that hung on his shirt. Slipping one tube in the mouths of his dragons, Grimm undid the Firedancer technique and remade his full bow. "That wasn't wise, Demon. You think you're strong, but I have a little secret to tell you..." Fire began to dance along Grimm's body, sparks and tongues of flame at a masquerade ball.

Reaching into the pocket of his black pants, he touched a final silver tube. "I'm stronger." Immediately, the fire surged uncontrollably, swallowing Grimm. When it disappeared, he was covered in scales from neck to foot. The orange armor, coupled with flaming wings behind him that drew in more spiritual energy then he ever hoped to need definitely gave him an interesting appearance. To finish it off, his eyes had morphed from a simple yellow to an acidic green. Likewise, his rounded pupils became slits. "Drachen..." Whispering the name of his Leztz Stil beneath his breath, Grimm smiled a sad smile at Cubix.

"If you think that holding Human lives over me is going to do anything, then you're sorely mistaken. Yes, you could kill that many humans in that many seconds... but what if you didn't have that many seconds?" A collection of spiritual energy began to charge, and the tube in Grimm's pocket glowed with power. Deciding to prove to the demon that this quincy was not to be trifled with, Grimm surged his reiatsu. The area around him was immediately demolished as fire and energy soared around him. This was Drachen, and he reserved it only for special cases.

Bringing the bow up, he aimed for Cubix. From the tubes that were placed in the mouths earlier, flaming blades of energy spawned. Rising into the air, the platform beneath Grimm's feet propelled him to new heights. "See, you're not very wise, little demon. You think that rock beats fire, so you know no fear." Drawing back the string, the seele shneider blades began to deplete as a dual-cored arrow began to form. "But what happens when the fire is too hot for the rock to handle? The oxygen is burned out inside of it, shrinking it. Without mass, the flames engulf it, melting it and turning it into magma. Then what do you have? More fire." Although he deliberately pulled the arrow slowly, Grimm was ready for his final technique.

One final glance at Tazuma and the boy he was holding. Make sure he's safe. A final thought that he prayed Tazuma would pick up. Once more, Grimm's eyes, now green, found Cubix. Releasing the arrow, his determination did not waver.

The moment the arrow left the bow, it was engulfed in a powerful fire. Energy from Drachen had been used to create it, meaning it was an arrow more powerful then anything he had ever created. The seele shneiders inside of the fire began to rotate at high speeds, doubling their piercing ability and damage. A dragon emerged from the fire, the flickering plasma being used to create the image of a powerful serpent. But the demon may not even have seen that. The arrow flew with such speed that it almost didn't exist. Grimm seriously doubted his Celer would be enough to dodge it. Even a glancing blow from this creation was almost surely fatal.

"I don't need to know who you are to know that you are a threat to all humanity. You die now, demon." Yes, Grimm had ignored his plea to just hear him out. Why? Because he had killed in order to ask that question and make his point. If he killed that casually, then Grimm just couldn't allow him to become scarce. He had to die. The Quincy prowled these streets every day. He knew that a family was in that building. He knew lives had been lost. Lowering his hand from the bow, Grimm dismissed the weapon. Even if the demon somehow miraculously survived, he wouldn't need it. Now that Drachen was activated, Grimm could destroy his rocks with his bare hands.
