TRAINING SYSTEM Introduction: ... Let us guess. You've read the tier system, and your wondering how do you get stronger? Or maybe you're wondering if your character can achieve more techniques later on, as their plot develops? Either way, the answer to both is a training thread. Here, on Bleach Story, we use a training system, that allows your character to gain a tier-up, a new technique or an additional ability, among other things. The stronger you become, the harder the training required for the next tier becomes, and the longer you have to wait until you can train again. Training Criteria: When you train for a tier or a technique, the training thread has five requirements, which you will need to fulfill before you can ascend to the next stage in your evolution. They are the following: Word Length - We require a minimal amount of effort to make sure you are trying. You can afford to miss post counts for one or two posts that are just moving a thread along, but if you slip on them too much, your thread might not count and you will have to add some details to the thread. Post Quality - This is to make sure you're taking this seriously enough to actually earn something. We want posts to be meaningful as well. Not just long. If staff deems the thread lacking in quality, it will not count. Method Viability - This is to make sure that whatever you did makes sense. You don't have a training thread about throwing boulders and then gain a new kidou spell. Nor do you just magically learn new techniques in the middle of a battle. If you're mastering a new spell, practice it several times and fail a few of them in the beginning. If you're learning a new release technique, go into your inner world and learn it from your zanpakutou spirit. Just make things believable within the boundaries of Bleach universe. Fairness - Is what you're trying to obtain fair? We need to make sure it is, so we suggest you post your new techniques, ability, etc. in the creation area to get it approved BEFORE you do the training. You could get it approved afterward, but if it gets denied, then you have a thread revolving around a power that wasn't even approved. You'll have to edit the training thread to fit any edits made to the power before it can count, or simply start over. Currency - Can you afford to train for a new technique or an ability? Have you bought the tier-up from the site shop? We use a currency system, that is based on activity and posting, and it is strongly tied with our training system in the sense, that you have to purchase new technique slots and tier-ups.
Training Methods When training for techniques or a tier upgrade, you have three different options to chose for the method of training, for the sake of versatility and enjoyment of the roleplayer. You will them listed below, so read carefully; Lone-Wolf Method The first and easiest method, recommended for both new and old roleplayers. As the name suggests, in this type of a training thread the roleplayers will play out and complete their training by themselves. This means, that controlling NPCs, dealing with battle situations, narrating the thread, and controlling the thread is all left to the roleplayer themselves - everything will be done by you, and no other player may appear in the thread. The requirements for this method will be a bit tougher than the other methods, and you might notice, that training with the help of other players can be more rewarding to your plot development. Nonetheless, this is a viable and a recommended method of training. A new item or a piece of equipment: Words Per Post - N/A Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 2 weeks Quality - Should be legible and show an effort was made. Unlocking a Secondary Release: Words Per Post - N/A Pages - 5 pages Quality - Must be well written and show a great effort was made. Cooldown - N/A Combined Effort Method Does the "Lone Wolf Method" sound lonely to you? Maybe you want action, and writing a thread all alone seems kinda dull, doesn't it? This is the right method for you then - a training thread, where multiple people participate to meet a common goal with their plot development. In this kind of thread, you're being helped by others to achieve whatever you want to achieve - these other players can help you out of the good of their heart, or obtain rewards from the staff for helping you out with your training! There’s going to be word limit per post, but don’t let that get in your way. As stated in the above section, this is not going to be as tough as the “Lone Wolf Method”, even if the requirements seem pretty much the same - remember, that you're having another player halving the effort for you. A new general technique: Words Per Post - 150 Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 1 month Quality - Should be legible and show an effort was made. A new release technique: Words Per Post - 200 Pages - 2 pages Cooldown - 1 month Quality - Should be legible and show an effort was made. A new personal ability: Words Per Post - 300 Pages - 3 pages Cooldown - 2 months Quality - Should have a low number of errors and be well written. A new item or a piece of equipment: Words Per Post - 150 Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 1 month Quality - Should be legible and show an effort was made. List for increasing tier level: Tiers 5-3 to 4-3: Words Per Post - 150 Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 1 month Quality - Must be legible and show an effort was made. Tiers 4-3 to 3-3: Words Per Post - 250 Pages - 2 pages Cooldown - 2 months Quality - Must be well written with a low number of errors. Tiers 3-3 to 3-1: Words Per Post - 350 Pages - 3 pages Cooldown - 3 months Quality - Must be well written with a low number of errors. Tiers 3-1 to 2-1: Words Per Post - 450 Pages - 4 pages Cooldown - 5 months Quality - Must be well written and show a great effort was made. Tiers 2-1 to 1-2: Words Per Post - 550 Pages - 6 pages Cooldown - 10 months Quality - Must be well written and show a great effort was made. Unlocking a Secondary Release: Words Per Post - 500 Pages - 4 pages Quality - Very high; there should be a certain plot depth. Cooldown - N/A Death-defying Method If you’re the kind of person who isn’t afraid of taking risks, this method of training is for you. While there's a possibility, that your character might end up dead, the benefit of beating this challenge is very, very rewarding. By risking more, you have the chance of winning more, or losing it all - and even if your character dies, you can always make another one. However, this method isn't going to be available right off the bat. Only when you can no longer get stronger via the safe methods above, may you resort to the risky path of this method. If there is still room for you to grow via the safe methods above (ie, if you're not on cooldown in all of them), don’t walk this road. This method can only be done with another role-player, not alone, because it is only obvious that the true danger becomes with not knowing how your opponent might react. With this kind of training, instead of quality, you have a danger level. The danger level is a measure of how tough your opponent(s) will be, and how likely are you to die in the thread. A new general technique: Words Per Post - 150 Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 1 month Danger Level - Low; the opponent was about as strong as you are and while there was a risk of death, you didn't struggle too hard to win. A new release technique: Words Per Post - 200 Pages - 2 pages Cooldown - 1 month Danger Level - Low; the opponent was about as strong as you are and while there was a risk of death, you didn't struggle too hard to win. A new personal ability: Words Per Post - 300 Pages - 3 pages Cooldown - 2 months Danger Level - Medium; the opponent was a bit stronger than you and had the advantage between you and them, but you survived. A new item or a piece of equipment: Words Per Post - 150 Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 1 month Danger Level - Low; the opponent was about as strong as you are and while there was a risk of death, you didn't struggle too hard to win. List for increasing tier level: Tiers 5-3 to 4-3: Words Per Post - 150 Pages - 1 page Cooldown - 1 month Danger Level - Medium; the opponent was a bit stronger than you and had the advantage between you and them, but you survived. Tiers 4-3 to 3-3: Words Per Post - 250 Pages - 2 pages Cooldown - 2 months Danger Level - Medium; the opponent was a bit stronger than you and had the advantage between you and them, but you survived. Tiers 3-3 to 3-1: Words Per Post - 350 Pages - 3 pages Cooldown - 3 months Danger Level - High; the opponent was definitively stronger than you, or you were heavily outnumbered, and you barely survived. Tiers 3-1 to 2-1: Words Per Post - 450 Pages - 4 pages Cooldown - 5 months Danger Level - High; the opponent was definitively stronger than you, or you were heavily outnumbered, and you barely survived. Tiers 2-1 to 1-2: Words Per Post - 550 Pages - 5 pages Cooldown - 10 months Danger Level - Very High; the odds should be desperately against your character. Survival should require more than just fighting skill and show off all of your characters strengths. You didn't defeat your opponent via strength. Unlocking a Secondary Release: Words Per Post - 400 Pages - 3 pages Cooldown - N/A Danger Level - Very High; the odds should be desperately against your character. Survival should require more than just fighting skill and show off all of your characters strengths. You didn't defeat your opponent via strength. |
