"Yes and no." Grimm answered curtly. Although he was pleased to see Szayel, he wasn't too pleased with the fact that Szayel was still killing in his experiments. It made attempting friendship a difficult process. "I thought we were just going to force the Hollow Reiatsu in me to energize and use that, instead of killing a Hollow and removing it's mask." As a quincy, Grimm could feel the remnents of Hollow energy inside of his body, the only thing that remained from his time as a Fullbringer (Aside from his Fullbring focus, the ring on his left hand).
He had wanted a way to access this Hollow power. Perhaps if he could tame it and use it for good, Hollow would stop getting such a bad reputation for generality. It may just allow for acceptance of all beings, arrancar, vaizard, shinigami and quincy alike. That was his goal. That was the true reason he founded Glühende Asche Entwicklung, the Embers of Progression. "Besides, I don't think that mask will truly work. I could try to absorb it, but even that is an unknown variable. Wearing it won't do anything. I don't have the key to it's energy." For someone that didn't put a lot of research into this, Grimm certainly was confident in his answers.
"The reason I think simply using my own latent Hollow reiatsu would work is this." Deciding to demonstrate something he had recently discovered for Szayel, Grimm brought his hand up. Staring at his fingers, he concentrated intently. Nothing would break his determination. Slowly, as sweat began to pour down his face, an orange light began to glow around his fingers. Flicking his hand rapidly, the energy shot from his fingers and flew through the air. Smashing into a tree, it exploded rapidly, causing the tree to detonate and explode. Bark and leaves filled the air. "As you can see... That's the seedling of a cero." Shoving his hand higher, Grimm pointed to a residue on his hand.
"I think this substance is made of the same material as your masks. It only appears when I try to use Hollow power." A white shell covered his fingers, barely noticeable. "Does any of this help your research?" Exhausted from over-using his Hollow power, Grimm dropped to one of the benches, inhaling deeply. Oxygen. He needed oxygen. Flickering, his eyes left his hands to the mask. A life lost, but not wasted. "Nevertheless... let me see the mask. Perhaps if I absorb it, it will jump-start the process." Vaizardification on a Quincy. Who would of thought it could be possible?
Reaching towards the mask, Grimm's hand shook. He was just too exhausted. If something happened and a fight started, there was no way the 19 year old would be able to fight. Looking up at Szayel, Grimm swallowed. He was directly under the mercy of this sadistic arrancar. Could he trust him? Should he trust him? Was any of this worth it? Slowly, the mask began to break down. Beams of energy, Hollow mask particles moving at high speeds, shot into Grimm's body. Feeling his energy regain, an inkling of evil was born. He could feel it growing, pulsing in his chest. Bringing the mask-coated hand up, he smashed it into the bench, shattering the residue into fragments.
He couldn't let this beat him. He had to control what was inside of him or all of his work, the lives lost for this, would be wasted. "Don't let this be a waste, Szayel.." Begging the arrancar, Grimm dropped his head back and stared at the sky, still trying to regain some stamina from his energy output.
