 THE VISORED APPLICATION Name: SEOYEUNG HAAlias: The Black Dog, Traitor Real Age: 1087 Phys. Age: 19 Gender: male Personality: Seo is a rather easy-going child, and has been since he first arrived in this world. Very accepting of others, he would prefer to become friends to those who share his air than waste his breath bickering, however he does not back down from his beliefs, and if he feels another is wrong in an unacceptable way, he will show no courtesy. To the races of the world, he has no prejudices, and in fact has attempted to communicate with Hollow once or twice. These attempts have all led to nothing but the extermination of said hollow however, and so he has chalked the majority to be nothing more than empty beasts, and will kill them if necessary. Out of everything in his world, the family that surrounds him are of the utmost importance. This does not only count towards blood relation as those he has befriended and those he will all count under this broad generalization. Seo does not let simple things like blood tie him down, for those he has shared a bond with have become his family. This family is his to protect and provide for, nothing else matters when this family is in danger, not even his life. On a less serious scale, he is much akin to a elder brother or father-like figure to his friends, oftentimes nitpicking them or making sure their health is being taken care of. Abandonment is something Seo is not fond of. Death would be the only reason to abandon those who need aid, and as such he is often mistaken to be naive in his ways. While he knows it is true you cannot help every single person survive, he knows he must try his best to help as many people possible, for that is the way his family lived, and how it always will. Seo will throw himself into harms way as long as he is able to make sure the well being of another is not in peril, even if that person may have wronged him. This is not to say Seo cannot recognize one who only wants to use Seo loyalty as if such a situation were to arise and he were to identify it, said person would be on the other end of Seo's fist. Seo is an outspoken man and has no worry whether his words will hurt others, this does not mean he is rude or aggressive in nature, he just has no reason to be insecure of his words or thoughts. He is confident enough to know that those who try to change him are nothing more than people who wish to use him, and he has no need to pretend to be anything other than what he is. This can oftentimes make him come off as insensitive or aloof, however those who truly know him know otherwise. CHARACTER APPEARANCE Height: 5'7"Weight: 135 Physical Traits: Seo is a very kind looking creature, his soft ochre eyes seemingly taking in the entire world in front of him. He has slightly unkempt dark brown hair is sloped to the left, barely meeting the very bottom of his forehead. Being around 5'9" in height, and 145lbs soaking wet, one would not think too much of the boy, especially in his usual attire of a dark button up, and light tan pants. If close enough, someone may be able to notice the faint smell of bread, along with the calming scent of freshly picked flowers brought in daily to his home. Seo rarely looks down at his feet, especially when walking, however even so it could be said he never wants to be noticed, hopping from one shadow to the next. It's not as though he is sly or afraid, and his posture mimics this sentiment as his shoulders never seem to slack, and his feet never shuffle. His quick stride is one with pride, pride that he would rather bask in alone. A humble voice only used when necessary, he is a man of few words, and even fewer actions, wasting very little energy unless unavoidable. THE COMBAT INFORMATION General Fighting Style: When using his Zanpakutou seo is quite agile with his strikes, mainly using piercing attacks and quick swipes at a distance using the very tip of the blade to wear down the opponent due to Seo having greater than average endurance. Seo tends to make grand swings and flourishes in his attacks that follow up into a heavy strike, preferring to whittle down the opponents defenses before taking them out. When using his preferred fighting method of Hakudo in which he is known as quite proficient, Seo takes no prisoners, going in for quick strikes and kicks, making very little extra movement allowing quick takedowns and grapples. If one were able to keep their eyes on him they would no doubt say he was like a hawk diving for it's prey without mercy. When in close combat quarters Seo is in his element, even against higher tiered opponents his confidence in his skills will result in either the downfall of his opponent or himself due to his stubbornness. When sparring with a friend he does not hold very much back, just enough to make it friendly, but not enough to take the fun out of it, this courtesy is not present when fighting those lower than him, he prefers to not stretch out a battle for the sake of another's ego. Strengths: Seo is extremely agile in his movements, and while he may not be a long distance runner, his sprinting speed, especially when using flash step, is much greater than average. Along with his speed his strength is another feat in which he has fair regard. Weaknesses: While his durability may be decent, his stamina is less than up to par for someone of his skill level, which makes continued fighting without utilizing his shikai or bankai very strenuous on his body. Ontop of that, he does not like to play around in a fight, which may create a situation where he rushes in without fully thinking just wanting to get the battle over with. Ability Name: Blood Manipulation Ability Description: Seo is able to manipulate blood either from his body or others as long as it is no longer inside a body in an area of 100ft around him. This ability allows him to create Bala-like blasts with similar power but less speed, as well as controlling the create solid objects like whips, spikes, gauntlets, or even shields. ZANPAKUTO Sealed Appearance: Seo's Zanpakutou is not quite the same as many other sealed Zanpakutou. When sheathed it looks like a long straight single black wooden sheath about 5' in length. When drawn the 1' long handle pulls out a long needle-like black blade. While it may look ineffective, it is able to cut in any direction. Zanpakutou Name: Karetane (Withering Seed) Call Out Command: Take Root - Shikai / Bloom - Bankai SHIKAI Appearance: While in it's shikai, Seo's Zanpakutou looks exactly as it did in it's shikai form. Abilities: Ability Name: Advanced Blood Manipulation Ability Description: Much like his previous ability, Seo is able to manipulate blood either from his body inside or out, or others as long as it is no longer inside a body in an area of 100ft around him. This ability allows him to create Cero and Bala-like blasts with similar power, as well as create solid objects like whips, spikes, gauntlets, or even shields. While powered-up in Shikai, Seo is able to layer his body in a clear coating of blood and harden it, much like a Arrancar's Hierro. In Shikai his structures are much more durable and consistent. Ability Name: Drain Ability Description: In Shikai his Zanpakutou may stay similar in form, however is is able to extend and bounce back to normal size almost instantly. The blade is able to extend up to as far as Seo can see, however if one is hit with the blade when it is extending, no damage is done to the opponent, instead a nearly invisible, resilient strand is connected to the opponent back to Seo. Seo is able to create up to five different connections while in Shikai, and with these connections he is able to move back and forth between him or anyone connected to these strands life force and energy. These strands last until broken, or until he is forced out of Shikai. He is only able to take away or give 20% energy away from any one individual, and only 2% can be taken per post. Only 15% of that energy is transferred into Seo half as stamina, half as reiryoku. Boosts: 2x speed BANKAI New Name: Yggdrasil Appearance: As his Bankai is activated, blood starts dripping from the handle down the blade of his Zanpakutou, before finally puddling below Seo. Dropping his weapon into the puddle a enormous willow tree sprouts from the blood, it's bark blackened by fire and it's leaves blood red in color, easily standing up to four stories tall, and 20ft in diameter. Abilities: Ability Name: Full Blood Manipulation Ability Description: Much like his previous ability, Seo is able to manipulate blood either from his body inside or out, or others as long as it is no longer inside a body in an area of 100ft around him. This ability allows him to create Cero and Bala-like blasts with Full power and speed, as well as create solid objects like whips, spikes, gauntlets, or even shields. While powered-up in Shikai, Seo is able to layer his body in a clear coating of blood and harden it, much like a Arrancar's Hierro. In Bankai his structures are as durable as steel. Ability Name: Mega Drain Ability Description:In Bankai, the tree that Seo creates has a nearly infinite amount of strands he is able to connect to those in a 200ft radius around him. With these connections he is able to move back and forth between him or anyone connected to these strands life force and energy. These strands last until broken, or until he is forced out of Bankai. He is only able to take away or give 25%(stacked on Shika) energy away from any one individual, and only 5% can be taken per post. Only 15% of that energy is transferred into Seo half as stamina, half as reiryoku. Boosts: 3x speed, 3x durability MASK Appearance: Seo's hollow mask is stag-like in nature, covering the entirety of his face, there seems to be nothing but slits for his yellow eyes to barely peer through. Atop on either side of his head seem to be antlers, however on the left side the antler is broken off to a nub, and the right only has one tine. Abilities: Cero, Hierro, Bala Hollow Powers: When using the mask he is able to utilize Cero, high speed regeneration, and hierro. Boosts: Speed, Strength, Stamina. FULL HOLLOW FORM Appearance: Seo's full Hollow form is quite the sight to see, his stature grows about a foot, and the hollow mask he had previously now encompasses down past his shoulders, his long black hair growing even longer still. The antlers of his mask extend fully with multiple tines and curves, bone extending from his hands and feet extending to the elbows and knees, with a large hollow hole forming on his lower left side of his stomach. Running down his spine are 1 to 2 inch spikes curved downward turning into a large tail 6inches in diameter at the base, that extends out five feet.
Ability Name: Cero Rose Ability Description: While charging a nearly black cero, blood starts to seep from any wounds on his body slowly melding with the cero before shooting off at high speeds causing extreme amounts of damage similar to a Cero Oscura. 4 post CD Ability Name: Consume Ability Description: While in full Hollow, he is unable to use his bankai abilities, however this is substituted by the vectors now flowing from his body instead of the tree in a radius of 100ft all around him. With these connections he is able to move back and forth between him or anyone connected to these strands life force and energy. These strands last until broken, or until he is forced out of Bankai. He is only able to take away or give 25%(stacked on Shika) energy away from any one individual, and only 5% can be taken per post. Only 15% of that energy is transferred into Seo half as stamina, half as reiryoku. Boosts: 4x speed, durability, strength BACK-DROP History: Seoyeung was quite the lively face when he was born, full head of hair and quite heavy as his mother recalled. He of course had no memory of such events, but his mother, Yeung Ha vividly relayed the details to him every single day until his first day of schooling. His father was quite the opposite, a stern and quiet figure known only to show love through long-winded speeches and shoulder grabs. It was love nonetheless however. Going through his school years, Seo was average in everything. Whether it be his grades, his performance physically, or the amount of friends he had, it was quite average. This was mainly due to the fact that Seo was more than content with being average, and if anything, enjoyed it. His family being of higher standing within Japan did allow him such things as well, as any form of schooling would greatly advance him, even if he were not a scholar. This complacence lasted up until the ripe age of nineteen where unfortunately, an uprising in the classes broke out. Seo did nothing but help those injured in the attacks, however in the end, he was slaughtered with the rest of his family. Waking up in the outer rukongai district was quite the change for Seo, no more clean chairs, no more tutors, no parents or servants to make food for him or chat with. He was dazed and confused, and when multiple men surrounded and gagged him, that confusion turned to fear. Thrown into a cell with multiple others, it seemed he had been captured by some sort of gang. This gang eventually grabbed all those in the cell and informed them they were now apart of the Rukongai Defense Force, which judging by the men and women he was surrounded with, meant he would be extorting and threatening others for a long time to come. The person directly to his left seemed to share his disgust, but they hid it well. He came to know her as Ori. Ori was quite the small woman, but what she lost in stature, she made up for in attitude and confidence. The quiet Seo and the loud Ori quickly grew into an inseparable pair amongst the group of bandits, and nothing was able to stop them. Even though their contempt for the group kept them from truly fitting in, they did as they were told and were rewarded with food and a place to stay, which Seo couldn't particularly complain about. It did seem that the men in the group often came back with injuries, so Seo took it upon himself to help out those who let him, and eventually his skills and reputation grew to the point where the leader of their ragtag bandit group took notice and decided it was time to meet Seo. Calling an official audience with him, Seo was afraid, he had only heard about the boss through rumors and whispers among the lower ranked members of the RDF. A strong man with no regard for those around him, he only cared of profit and power. That is what he was told, the man he met however was quite the far cry from that image. He was an older looking gentleman with long white hair and beard, a gentle face rose colored from the sake he drank. He greeted Seo quite warmly and told him to sit, asking if he had been informed of his name, before stating he was called Dokuta. Dokuta went on and on about how he's heard of a pitifully thin boy who's only good at helping others. The man stated he was opening up a clinic and he wanted Seo to run it. He would funnel any funds that happened to come through back to the RDF and would be another cover for their operations. Unable to refuse Seo only had one request, that Ori be able to assist him. Dokuta laughed and told him his audacity was admirable and that he would grant that request, and before no time, Seo found his new home in a rickety old building painted white. For years and years he managed this building with the heart of gold he was known for, taking nothing for his services if need be. Dokuta and him grew ever closer in a sort of twisted father-son bond. He knew Seo hated the group, and as Dokuta grew older he realized perhaps changing the Rukongai for the better would be the better solution, after all, did money really matter in the after-life? During this time Seo and Ori only grew closer, and eventually they married. Life went quite well actually, aside from the weekly death threats from Dokuta's collectors, everything went smoothly. Sadly, during a normal day a Shinigami was brought in to his medical room due to injuries somehow sustained within the Rukongai, he was critical. Seo treated him as best he could, however the mans injuries were too severe and he died. In retaliation Shinigami were sent all throughout the town searching for the ones who attacked their fellow reaper, and eventually their search led them to Dokuta's men, and in association, Seo and Ori. The battle between the two groups was ferocious, but the Shinigami quickly wiped out Dokuta's men, and in turn, Dokuta. While treating men of both sides Ori was caught in the crossfire between one of Dokuta's men and a Shinigami, killing her. While in the middle of trying to attack both Dokuta's man and the Shinigami in an attempt to get to his beloved wife, he was knocked unconscious and taken in by the Shinigami. Waking up in a rather well kept room with bars on it's windows and doors, Seo was approached by a man with a very kind smile on his face, a man he didn't quite recognize but felt he should. The man told him that unfortunately his wife had passed away, however he was willing to offer Seo a chance at a new life away from the poverty of the Rukongai district. This man turned out to be the leader of the 4th Squad, and his new life was a spot in the Shinigami academy. At first he was quite apprehensive, and fairly spiteful due to the fact that his wife was killed in the crossfire between the Shinigami and Dokuta's men, however as he made new friends, and learned he was quite proficient in Hakudo, his mind slowly was put at ease and he soon felt at home, and when he graduated and was appointed to the 4th Squad to serve as the 5th seat to who he now affectionately knew as Thane, he couldn't have been happier. It was as though the entire time he was subjugated under the ruthlessness of the group previous was completely swept away, and even though he was still mourning his wife, his connection with his Squad mates, and his ever growing promotions and achievements kept his sadness at bay. Soon as Vice Captain to the 4th Squad, he served among his new best friend and ally, however tragedy fell, and Thane was infected by a Hollow, his reiatsu slowly turning him into a monster. While still a secret, Thane, Seo, and a few members of the 12th division attempted to cull the Hollow residing inside their friend, to no avail. When Thane's secret was made known, he was killed as an abomination, and Seo was placed as temporary Captain of the 4th Squad. With now two tragedies of loved ones in his life, he devoted his time to bettering his Squad, his own skills, and attempting to find a cure for soul suicide and Hollow infection. Eventually they accepted him as permanent 4th Squad Captain, and none under him dared complain, as their respect for him, and his iron authority that eventually made it's way out of him through trialing circumstances created a man of respect and iron-will. He made sure his men were as skilled in fighting as they were healing, and after many years, he was known to be on par in hand-to-hand combat with the 2nd Squad, and his squad not too far behind. He assisted the 12th Squad many times with their research as well, hoping to find cures and remedies for ailments that commonly caused death and despair to those in the Rukongai and the Seireitei. One night after returning from a mission, he heard from rumors between squads that down in the Rukongai a man and his personal Militia was going to be stopped permanently in an attempt to correct the power struggle within the Rukongai. Seo knew immediately they meant Dokuta, and Seo immediately left to attempt a resolution before it was too late, he couldn't bear more casualties like the last time the two battled. Making his way into Dokuta's main operation building he requested a talk with Dokuta, and patiently awaited his old keeper. He was however ambushed by crazed men, Dokuta not far behind them. Taking out most the men, he was overwhelmed by the sheer number. It seemed that Dokuta and his men were corrupted by a parasite-like Hollow giving them a boost in power in exchange for their bodies, corrupting their minds. Seo tried to negotiate his way out of the bind, but ultimately was forced to cut down the group. Due to Seo's actions, the issues in the Rukongai seemed to disappear for a time, and as did Seo's, little did he know a monster was incubating inside of him, due to the fight in the Rukongai, Seo himself was infected. Attempting to fight it only made it worse, and even though he had made strides and bounds in treatment options for such things, he could not overcome such a monster inside of himself, and eventually he was overcome, becoming what his old friend Thane had once been long ago. Destroying most of the 4th Squad barracks, he was stopped by a few other captains and disarmed, as his body was broke and beaten by his fellow Shinigami attempting to control him, he did slowly regain his senses, and the Hollow within him was suppressed somewhat. When he awoke he was chained up in a cell and treated like scum, no matter who the person was, friend or otherwise, they made sure he knew what an abomination he was. It wasn't his fault however, he tried to stop it. He just wanted to help others, however this was of no concern to the Shinigami he once served alongside. Multiple times he was taken by the 12th Squad and examined, prodded, and at one point they even succeeded in letting the Hollow inside of him take control for a brief moment before knocking him back out. It seemed one Shinigami had taken pity on him, a small and fragile looking cadet of his 4th Squad. Sneaking in to the cage he was held in four nights before he was scheduled to be executed, the boy unlocked the door and healed his wounds enough where he was able to escape. Seo had just enough strength to activate the Senkaimon and escape through it to the human world. Seo spent years in the Human realm, wandering, doing nothing of particular besides keeping out of sight from the patrols that the Shinigami held in order to cull the Hollow population. Currently he's looking for a way to get into Hueco Mundo, for he has an offer for the Espada who once were his enemy. Side Notes: While he used to keep his hair a medium length, due to being exiled in the Human World, he has recently let his hair grow out to extremely long proportions, nearly hiding his face. Roleplay Sample: Seo wasn't particularly tired at the exact moment a random goon from the less satisfactory part of town burst into his rundown shack he currently called home, however the fact the man would be so brazen as to do so while Seo was in his night attire offended him deeply. The man who the ochre-eyed vizard could now see a bit more clearly as he slowly woke up appeared to be quite tall, perhaps around 7ft tall. Yawning he sat up and waved his hand at the man in a shooeing motion. "I'm attempting to sleep, so if you wouldn't mi-" Unfortunately the man left no time to chat as his knee slammed straight into Seo's face sending him straight through the wall directly behind him and skidding across the street lit only by the yellow streetlamps above. Seo moved his hair out of his face and rubbed the area gingerly where he was hit, it didn't particularly hurt, but feigning defeat was a good way to get information, especially out of the stupid, which this large hulk of a man appeared to be. Afterall, who would destroy a man's home, especially one which he was renting, not owning!?! It was quite the barbaric thing to do. Seo opening his mouth to speak but was shut up by the large, now visibly a Shinigami, man grabbing his throat and thrusting him in the air and up against a nearby brick wall, creating all sorts of cuts into his once pristine pajamas. "WE FINALLY GOT YA, Been searching all day, and to be frankly honest, I can't say i'm surprised we found ya, what with that stunt you pulled. You know we were just gonna let you go, but battling with us? That was a wrong move." Each word spoken at Seo was like a water balloon hitting his face, spit spraying into his eyes. Wiping off the juices left behind the mans monologue, he thought back to earlier that day where he had found a few Shinigami toying with an Arrancar that had made it's way into the human realm, while he had to admit, he wasn't too fond of Arrancar eating humans, he also wasn't too please by the sight of Shinigami stooping so low as to play with their opponent. He didn't harm them too much, just incapacitated them, through a building or two. Nothing too severe, but i suppose he had just escaped from the Seireitei, laying low should have been his priority, but perhaps he felt a sort of kin-ship with the arrancar. After-all, they were nothing more than the Hollow equivalent of Shinigami. "Well maybe you shouldn't let your fellow Shinigami bully their prey. A single strike should be sufficient." As his hand bend the Shinigami's backwards of his throat, words became more clear, and the man's face more terrified. He didn't truly believe he could take on a former Captain alone did he? Alas, even in his current state this man was no match for Seo. Lifting the man into the air with a quick flick of his wrist Seo shot his fist forward, sending the Shinigami back through the house which they came from knocking him out cold. "Just because you all have my Zanpakutou in your grubby little clutches, doesn't mean i'm some push-over y'know?" Putting his hands on his hips he just could hear the yelling of the men who were no doubt the backup for the Shinigami who previously had him pinned against a wall. Sighing he knew he really should be off. Flash stepping away he really wished they would have found him somewhere else, he was just getting comfy in that place as well. |
