So this is a thread for NPC zanpakuto concepts, meaning anyone can post a zanpakuto idea here for a NPC, that they themselves do not have time to finish or are too lazy to make. Post the zanpakuto concept of yours, primary ability and element of zanpakuto. If it contains second release, be sure to describe both releases in depth, and optionally, you could describe sealed appearance and spirit personality/appearance too. I personally would prefer the concept to include some sort of information about the NPC too, meaning a few facts about them, especially of their personality, and how their nature suits this specific zanpakuto.
- Plot Suggestion #1:
Shinigami Academy Arc: Has any of you ever felt like, that you'd enjoy playing your character in their academy years? This special plot would not only allow you to do that, you would have to do that, since the plot is based on the first year of every character's studies. Everyone has been young at some point, and this time everyone of our characters were in the school at the same time.
A lot of school drama, new friends and enemies, teenager love and huge parties. Learning to wield a sword and channelling reiatsu, developing the relationship with your zanpakuto and getting to knwo what it means to be a shinigami. Roleplaying you character on their academy years is easy and fun, because all you need to do is write their childhood and how shinigamir recruited them, what was their personality back then, and things like it. You can roleplay the character you play right now, you can roleplay a new character, and more importantly; you are allowed to play a canon character too.
This would be a good plot, considering our situation, and could even draw some new members on the site. The main goal of this plot is for the characters to become a shinigami and join Gotei 13, which will then launch the next plot, which could be about the visored conflict. But for most of the time, it works as a background plot, having tons of side-plots to spice things up, and people's personal plots are encouraged to be one of those side-plots. Other plots could something like, affairs of noble family or a corpse found in the school at night, or a party hosted by a rich student. You probably have noticed that there is no plots for shinigami officers, unless they are teaching, so making a such character is discouraged. In the end, your character will become an officer in Gotei 13, and you can see what your work has lead into; and it's all your achievement.
However, this plot would require a reboot, which I believe will happen quickly, if everyone just do it together and participate the renovation process.
Now, there is many new things, that the plot gives more freedom on, and some things that it's very strict about. Here is a long list of things that are changed for the plot.
Such a thing are the character amount and ratios. You are allowed to play as many original student characters as you wish, and up to two canon characters, while all teacher characters will be NPC characters and usable by everyone, unless your canon is old enough to be a teacher. Every member is expected to play at least one shinigami student, to keep the plot in process, out of every three characters, and their first character must be a student on academy.
The canon characters have still nothing to do with the canon events. They can have similiar personalities and they look same as they do in the canon, can have same or similiar powers and can have similiar histories, however, they must not have any referrence to the manga/anime. This is AU and just because you can play a canon, doesn't mean we are swaying from that.
Training System: The training and specializations systems are completely renovated. Actually, the plot drops all word/page requirements for all sort of training, and instead, it will be based on several factors.
The tier training will require the most effort and no character can tier up in one thread; it will require a number of training threads, one psychological, one physical, one spiritual and one more thread, where they combine what they have learned, and realize that they have actually became stronger. The threads must make sense, be realistic and personal effort of player should be seen, and the more powerful your character becomes, the harder training becomes and more threads is required. Some events can get you a tier up too.
The technique and ability training system is completely ignored as are the cooldowns for it, though it's not recommended for characters to learn too much in the same, since that can result in various things, like mental problems and excessive stress. To learn a spell, a technique or an ability, the character just needs to attend a proper lesson to learn it, but there is one requirement on learning techniques, spells and abilities. You need to have the basic knowledge and skill on that specific art, that the power is classified in; to learn a zanjutsu technique, you'd need to know basics of zanjutsu, and that's why you would attend several lessons about the basics, before doing any technique lessons.
Specializations are now something based on the lessons too. If you have attended three reiryoku channelling lessons, you would be a novice on reiryoku control, but if you have attended six or more lessons, the skill is significantly greater. The player doesn't need to roleplay every lesson of their character, but the basic theory classes and technique training lessons are needed to done IC-ly.
School System: Now instead of Gotei 13 organization roster, we would need a Shino Academy roster, separated in two threads. The first would be the actual roster, where students are listed by the hallway they sleep in
