Okay, so basically the Heart of Darkness is a very evil Hogyoku although instead of just manifesting desires it gives the power to do that desire on your own? Also with the reasons for wanting such an artifact Kuroi himself used it in the still in progress thread: The Evolution of Darkness where he drinks from it however instead of granting him power it actually draws upon the power of a being that he is the reincarnation of, hence that is how he gains his darker power... Now to discuss Virgil, he is the Prince of the West alongside his "sister" Annora, he is second in command to the Army of Blood to his father Dante, now a little about him, he is the most dominant of all of Dante's children (since he is a rapist he tends to have a large amount of children most are simply weak though) Dante is overly protective towards Virgil hence why he has not taken part in the plot thus far.

Virgil is in essence a incubus/succubus, although very violet and blood lustful as a male he tends to love to torture and mentally break someone. His alter ego and female persona (anima) is called Beatrice. He could lead the Army in Dante's absence and would be quite powerful (planned to be around tier 2-3). He is ambitious and wishes to lead the Army of Blood although if his father can still manage the task then he won't seize power, I will try to get his NPC app done before the plot introduces him.

You are on the right lines for Seach's motivations, although it's the other direction. He doesn't want his original body back, he wants to not need one at all - he'd rather that bodies were tools to him rather than a requirement.

His goal is the constant empowerment of the Shadow That Is, until he has more range with it, more souls bound to it, and he is capable of bringing more back from the 'dead'.

I have been thinking about the ending of the thread, and I see no way out for Dante left. Should we let him go, so Virgil can become the new big bad of the West? Additionally, should we bring out the Heart of Darkness in the ending scene - as in mention it? I am feeling, that it would be a perfect conclusion, if Katherine and Seach both expressed their interest in the dark artifact.

If Dante dies on Seach's shadow, it's win/win for us. He can stay gone or we can bring him back if we want, whatever we choose.

As for the HoD, definitely bring it out - Seach has heard of it and his shadows are filtering through the castle looking for it.

I like it. Kuroi already knows of the HoD's existence from Dante, and I am all for the killing of Dante and his possible return as an Eternal... Maybe set up Seach using Dante against Virgil. So I assume there will be a race for the Heart of Darkness which after Dante's death will be left in his vault which only he, Annora and Virgil can enter. So at the end we have three options.

1. Virgil hears about Dante dying, takes the Heart of Darkness and flees with his shattered army. This would mean no big faction would have the Heart straight up and allow some development while everyone looks for Virgil and the dark artifact.

2. Virgil leaves the western castle, while Katherine and Seach attempt to get the Heart first using their respective captives, Annora for Katherine and Dante's soul for Seach. Although Espada would stand in their way through Kuroi attempting to get Annora and Alyss from Katherine and just to keep the shadow away from more power.

3. Virgil stays and maintains the Western Fortress. Holds out until the other forces build up more power to take him out. Which gives plenty of room for character development.

I personally like number 1 since it gives us a good opportunity to let characters develop and create the next phase of the plot as well as it gives a hunt sort of feel for Virgil and the artifact. Your thoughts?

I am not killing off Dante on this turn, because we need to discuss this. I am seeing an alternative for Dante, and though on the short term Seach's captivity might be better - on the long term, we know that Dante committed some abhorrent crimes when he was human, and that those kind of hollows have one destination; Hell. He could return for the Civil War or it's aftermath, the Hell arc. What is your opinion on this?

Number 3 sounds best to me, but I want us to take some points from Number 1. Virgil should possess the artifact, but I think it could be also interesting to see, if he could really have it as a trump card. Maybe he would be struggling as much as the other factions to get it out of the vault, which could have been sealed as a failsafe, if Dante were ever to die (Too crack?) so no faction would have the Heart in the start. Army of Blood should stay as a formidable faction, as the Prince, Six Sins, Berenguer and remaining Horsemen as it's elite. They would lock themselves up in the West, and try to defend it to the last stand. To extend the Civil War, I see the other three sides getting into skirmishes, rather than focusing their power on the West to acquire the Heart of Darkness.

hmm. It would be pretty cool if Dante lead Togabito in an attempt to escape Hell. I think that would be quite interesting although I really think it should fall to Virgil to lead the Army of Blood and I like the sound of number 3 when put that way with the vault being sealed so Virgil cannot even get it.

So do whatever you see fit with Dante.
