It looks like the mythologies are more or less set. We will pick the 10 gods from the following;

- Greek/Roman [2 Gods] [Suggested: Hera, Venus, Athena, Poseidon, Apollo]
- Egyptian [2 Gods] [Suggested: Osiris, Thoth, Geb, Neith, Anubis]
- Indian [1 God] [Suggested: Visshnu, Shiva]
- Norse [2 God] [Suggested: WE WILL TAKE ODIN AS THE LEADER OF THE FALSE GODS, Freya, Thor, Loki]
- African [1 God] [Suggested: Apedemak]
- Mesoamerican [2 Gods] [Suggested: Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl, Ah-Puch/Mictlantecuhtli, Chaac/Tlaloc]

I will update the list as the poll goes on. Please go vote and post on it everyone, and encourage people to do so also.

ALSO: I came up with a name for the event. Does 'Dethroned Gods' ring right to your ears?

Also hey hey, on the choosing criteria; let's try to pick ten gods, that each have a different sphere from each other. So for example, let's not choose Tlaloc and Poseidon to the ten together, since they are both water deities, but take one of them and leave the other.

EDIT 1: Freya, Loki and Thor suggested by [Only admins are allowed to see this link] and [Only admins are allowed to see this link]. Also, for choosing criteria, should we have a 1:1 gender ratio on the gods? Anyone agreeing on raising the number from 10 to 12?

Okay, so the tenth vote has more or less decided what mythologies we are going to use.

- 2 Norse Gods (of which one will have to be Odin, I demand)
- 2 Greek/Roman Gods (of which Hera & Venus a must in my opinion)
- 1 Indian God (which is Shiva, by fact, because I already have a FC for her
- 2 Egyptian Gods (of which I have no idea, except that we shouldn't use Bastet, Sekhmet or Anubis)
- 1 African God (and only if absolutely necessary; we could transfer this slot to Greeks <3 )
- 2 Mayan/Aztec Gods (I am thinking Tlaloc is my favorite god)

So so, throw your opinions on which gods will get chosen to the 10 (or 12???)!

Okay my suggestions:

Norse Pantheon = Odin and Thor. Quite simple, Odin is obvious and Thor is due to the fact that he is incredibly strong and can act as a sort of Ares/Mars to replace the fact we don't have a God of War or one based around that.

Greek/Roman = I think we should do Venus and also Pheobus (Apollo) this is due to the fact we can cross off a healer god, and also a goddess of love, lust, fertility etc.

Hindu = I agree with Shiva although isn't Shiva a male?

Egyptian = I say Thoth as the surviving God of Wisdom and knowledge I also suggest we perhaps deviate from the suggested gods and use someone unaffiliated with the Underworld.... perhaps Anubis and Osiris can be introduced as poweful Togabito under Izanami but until then I suggest the second deity be Set (Satesh/Seth) who is the god of storms, discord and the desert.

African and Mayan is alien to me. I have no idea about these gods and so I will not make a suggestion on them. I suggest we allow a few elemental gods now since we have:

Knowledge and Wisdom - Thoth
Supreme Deity - Odin
War - Subbing in Thor due to a lack of Ares/Mars
Desire - Venus
Healer - Apollo
Destroyer - Shiva right?
Discord and Desert/Sand - Set or Seth whatever you want to call him.

For the Indian god, I will re-suggest Marici/Marishi-ten, who is a Buddhist goddess in India, Japan and China - she would be most Asian out of the 'False Gods', and act instead of Shiva. Her elemental sphere would be sun and light, perhaps fire as well? Are you okay with this?

Thor is a god I immediately associate with lightning/thunder - and so does Wikipedia. If we want a war deity, Apedemak (the suggested african deity) is one - you can google him if you want. Odin would definitely be the top dog. He's fancied the god of magic, kingship and wisdom, at least according to the non-Viking mythology. Here we have two Norse gods decided, and one African god waiting your approval.

Tlaloc is the most important rain/water deity of Aztecs, and his Mayan counterpart is Chaac. Mictlan is the underworld of Aztecs, whilst Mictlantecuhtli reigns it as the god of death and the dead. Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan is the famous feathered serpent of Mesoamerican mythology, and also a goddess associated with wind - she was kinda the top god of both Mayan and Aztec mythologies, so I am pretty sure you're familiar with the feathered serpent at least. If we leave Mictlantecuhtli out, being a death god, we have a god of water and a god of wind, as well as the two Mesoamerican gods decided.

I agree on Venus being one of the two Greek gods. The other two should be Hera, in my opinion, who acts as the surviving widow of Zeus, whom Odin would have overthrown at this point - alternatively, we could swap the roles of Hera and Zeus with Isis and Osiris. If we are raising the number of gods, we should introduce Apollo and his twin, Artemis, as addition to the Greeks.

Instead of Thoth, whose sphere is taken by Odin as a god of wisdom, we should do a simpler one - Geb, a god of earth, who was suggested in the poll also. Also, I do like the idea of Set/Seth, but rather than as a sand deity, we could focus on his aspects of chaos and darkness - his representation of desert metaphorical, as desert represented lifelessness to the ancient Egyptians.

Now, here's the summary of the 12 gods of my suggestion;

Odin - Norse; Wisdom, Magic
Thor - Norse; Thunder, Storms
Marici/Marishi-ten - Buddhist; Light, Fire, Sun
Apedemak - African; War, Battle
Tlaloc - Aztec; Rain, Water
Quetzalcoatl - Aztec; Wind, Vegetation
Venus - Roman; Love, Desire
Apollo - Greek; Music, Truth, Healing
Artemis - Greek; Animals, Hunting
Isis - Egyptian; Marriage, Life
Geb - Egyptian; Earth
Set - Egyptian; Chaos, Darkness, etc.
