Dear fellow staffers,
We've achieved plenty of our goals recently, but there's still work to do. Unfortunately, I have my hands full of RL, and so does Izuna, but we both try to be as active as our schedules allow us to be - our absence will hopefully be short and unnoticeable, but we need everyone else to do their best to meet the goals, that need to be achieved within the next weeks. We also have some positive news! We have decided to appoint a new trainee moderator to help us with the load of work - and if everything goes as planned, [Only admins are allowed to see this link] will take a permanent seat at our round table.
The main theme, as everyone can guess, is the tournament. Here's a summary on what has been agreed of it, and what it means for the staff.
Plot: Before the rise of large-scale shinigami and quincy campaigns between the 1st century and 5th century, the Earth was ruled by what the men know as ancient gods and goddesses - the men worshiped them, sacrificed to them and in return, the gods would grant them godly protection and wealth. They were some of the most powerful hollows of their time, feasting exclusively on sacrifices made to their many names and icons, but as a result of the quincy crusades to the West and the shinigami operations in the East, most of them were hunted down and their shrines disgraced.
A group of the surviving hollows, now mockingly called the 'Dethroned Gods', banded together and created the Pantheon - a great city floating in the skies and a relic of the days of their glory, where the hollow gods would retreat to safety. Located in a crack within the dimensional fabric, the hollow gods disappeared without a trace, surfacing on Earth only rarely, when their food supply began to deplete. However, strife and conflict emerged between the hollows, who all considered themselves the rightful ruler of the Pantheon, due to their former status as gods, decreasing the number of the survivors even further. Today, only a bunch of the survivors continue to exist in the Pantheon, awaiting the predestined day of their destruction.
On September 1st, when the portal between Alpha and Delta universes was opened, the dimensional fabric hiding the Pantheon has fallen into ruin - tens of blue-hued vortexes have appeared in the World of Living of both universes, each leading whoever passes through to the Pantheon. The mythical location has sparked the interest of both Gotei 13 and Espada, but any individuals, who crosses paths with these portals, are likely to become mesmerized by the possibilities the gates offer - unseen artifacts, immeasurable treasures and formidable challenges of combat, each has their own reasons for passing through. A race for the ultimate prize, that is hidden within the vault of 'Dethroned Gods', has begun.
Mechanics: The Pantheon is a combination of the mythological places associated with the Gods, who inhabit the city, a piece of architecture tailored together via unknown magics. To get to the highest of the city's towers and to the vault, one must pass through the zones separating the gates from the main stage of the gods, with each zone representing the palace of the god protecting it. Even though it has the appearance of a floating city to the outside, one will notice, that the landscape changes every time a new zone is accessed. The city itself comprises of four zones (Zones 1-4), while the palace comprises of only two (Zones 5-6) - the seventh and the final zone is the entrance to the Vault.
The Pantheon is a no-death zone, meaning a character cannot die there. For players, death means transportation back to World of Living, failure to get access to the treasure room and whatever prize awaits there. For the gods, only the destruction of Pantheon will kill them, as they are bound it it's core located in the vault - however, by inflicting enough physical trauma, a god's body can be destroyed, which forces their soul to return to the life-anchoring object within the vault.
The air of Pantheon is filled with an equalizing reiatsu, that affects any and all participants of the tournament. All characters will have their tier listed as 0-3, which is outside the tier brackets - they don't become more powerful than they already are, but instead, are forced to become equals for as long as they stay in the Pantheon. Most of the gods will be 0-2 - one tier higher than every player - but in the palace, the boss gods will be 0-1, two tiers higher than every player. Releases give a max of +2 (F)AR boost to players, but any other boosting factors, like Hierro or Hollow Mask, will be negated and unavailable for the duration of the tournament. The gods, even though hollows, have a form called "Ascensión", which gives them +1 (F)AR boost, and different kind of abilities and artifacts to fight the opponents with.
The Gods: So, now to what needs to be done. Staff needs to make brief, short NPC applications for the gods. These are not to be posted in the NPC database, but in the staff board, and later on, in the tournament board. We have decided on the following 12 gods and goddesses, so claim which you are going to write out. Bits of background info added to few gods. Powers must be related to the god's area of influence, but other than that, you have free hands. Try not to give super-flexible powers like water manipulation, and try to give more limited powers like water construct creation.
Odin -- We will treat him as the Norse god of wisdom and magic, and the current leader of the Pantheon. He's probably behind the equalizing magic of the Pantheon, which he used to consolidate his own rule, after he defeated the previous leader, Osiris. His seat is the Valhalla, where he and his son, Thor, live in - Valhalla will be the Zone 6, and Odin will be the 0-1 leveled opponent.
Isis -- We will treat her as the Egyptian goddess of life and motherhood, and the hesitant queen of the Pantheon. The widow of the previous leader, Osiris, whom Isis betrayed by allying with Odin during his coup d'etat. She probably created the magic binding the gods to the anchor within the vault. Her seat is reminiscent of an ancient pyramid and located on Zone 5, where she lives with other Egyptian gods - she is either a 0-2 or 0-1 leveled opponent. [Reserved for Erida to write and play]
Thor -- Norse god of lightning and storm, the son of Odin and his bodyguard in the Zone 6 of Valhalla. Has daddy issues? 0-2 definitely.
Apedemak -- Nubian god of war and battle, the bodyguard of Isis in Zone 5. Eliminate and then ask questions kind of person. They might be an item? The tier is 0-2.
Geb -- The Egyptian god of earth, and the father of Isis, who is totally under her feet and loyal to her and her alone. He is paired with Set, and protects Zone 1, which resembles a standard Egyptian desert. The tier is 0-2.
Set -- The Egyptian god of chaos and darkness, and the brother of Osiris, who is definitely happy about his self-righteous brother being gone. A slick bastard, whose out for himself. He is paired with Geb, and protects Zone 1, which resembles a standard Egyptian desert. The tier is 0-2.
Marishi-ten -- A Buddhist goddess, who only barely survived the persecutions in the East. She's a goddess of sun and light, whilst her elemental affinity is likely to be fire. She is paired with Venus, whom she despises, in the Zone 2, which resembles a chinese city district, and her tier is 0-2. [Reserved for Erida to be written and played.]

Tlaloc -- An Aztec god of rain and waters. Paired with Quatzalcoatl in Zone 4, which reminds an ancient Mesoamerican city. Tier is 0-2.
Quatzalcoalt -- An Aztec goddess of winds and vegetation, as well as the feathered snake found in Mesoamerican mythologies. Paired with Tlaloc in Zone 4, which reminds an ancient Mesoamerican city. Tier is 0-2.
