 THE SHINIGAMI APPLICATION Name: Arthur Pendragon Alias: King Arthur, The Once and Future King Real Age: 1,500~ Phys. Age: 23(ish) Gender: Male Personality: Arthur has a fairly dynamic personality due to his upbringing. On the outside, he seems like a quiet, gentle person who exudes confidence and strength in abundance. This is the Mask of the Ruler, in essence. It isn't necessarily that far off his actual personality, per say, but it happens to be the one he portrays to the world most of the time. He spent years of his life displaying this to the world, and has a slight problem letting others see the "real" him. Once one gets to know him, Arthur lightens up considerably, becoming a bit of a happy-go-lucky character despite his reputation as one of the greatest swordsmen to have ever lived. He isn't as quiet as before, but he's just as gentle and still gives off confidence and strength. He judges everyone equally, and is fair to all. In battle he is fierce, but not ruthless. There is no chance of him letting up, but that isn't to say that he dislikes a fair fight. He'd rather not fight at all, actually, but sometimes there isn't any choice, and he understands this well. THE COMBAT INFORMATION General Fighting Style: Arthur's fighting style, not surprisingly, relies heavily on a blade. His swordsmanship often throws his opponents for a loop, due to his training as a knight. The Western styles of swordplay are fairly different from the Eastern, after all. Strengths: Strength, Speed, Reflexes, Zanjutsu Weaknesses: Kidou, Hakuda, Durability Ability Name: Avalon Ability Description: Avalon, originally, was the name of Excalibur's sheath, and the name of the place where it was forged. Eventually, Arthur himself was entombed there. This ability belonged initially to whoever bore the sheath, but fused with Arthur upon his death. He will never age a day past the point when he acquired Excalibur, has High-Speed Regeneration, and cannot die of blood loss.

Abilities: Ability Name: Enhanced Cutting Power Ability Description: This ability can be guessed at due to a rough translation of Excalibur, "Cut-Steel". Excalibur has the ability to cut through anything physical or spiritual, with strength up to Bakudo #50 once per post. Ability Name: Heaven's Feel Ability Description: By building up reiatsu in Excalibur's blade, Arthur can release it from the point and the edge as a wave of hyper-dense energy, doing damage akin to Hado #50. This is a shameless Getsuga clone, with a cooldown period of one post. Boosts: x2 Strength, Speed, and Reiatsu. BANKAI New Name: Excalibur Appearance:
Ability Name: Restraints of the Round Table Ability Description: The Restraints of the Round Table are restrictions imposed upon Excalibur's power by the Knights of the Round Table themselves. Excalibur's Bankai may only be activated when four or more of the requirements are met. Each requirement met adds .25 to Arthur's Strength, Speed, and Reiatsu above the norm, maxing out at x6. Bedivere: The enemy must be more powerful than oneself Palamedes: The battle must be one-on-one Lancelot: The enemy must not be an elemental Mordred: The battle must be one against evil Galahad: The battle must not involve personal gain Gaheris: The battle must not be inhumane Agravain: The battle must be for truth Kay: The battle must be to live Arthur Pendragon: The battle must save the world. Guenevere: The battle must be an honorable one Ability Name: Enhanced Cutting Power Part 2 Ability Description: Excalibur's cutting power is enhanced even further, being able to cut through anything up to Bakudo #65 in strength without difficulty once per post. Ability Name: Enhanced Heaven's Feel Ability Description: By building up reiatsu in Excalibur's blade, Arthur can release it from the point and the edge as a wave of hyper-dense energy, doing damage akin to Hado #75. This is a shameless Getsuga clone, with a cooldown period of two posts. Boosts: x3 Strength, Speed, and Reiatsu. TOUKAI New Name: Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory Appearance:
Abilities: Ability Name: Released Restraints of the Round Table Ability Description: Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory is a completely unrestrained form of the blade, offering x6 boosts to Strength, Speed, and Reiatsu without needing to meet the initial requirements. Because of this unrestrained power, however, Toukai may only be maintained for a maximum of 6 posts, before reverting to it's sealed form, requiring a four post cooldown before Shikai can be reactivated. Bankai cannot be used for the rest of the thread, and neither can Toukai. Ability Name: Maximum Cutting Power Ability Description: Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory is capable of cutting through any physical or spiritual matter, up to Bakudo #80 in strength without much effort once per post. This does not include spiritual assaults, which must be dealt with normally (IE Cero, Hado). Ability Name: Complete Heaven's Feel Ability Description: By building up reiatsu in Excalibur's blade, Arthur can release it from the point and the edge as a wave of hyper-dense energy, doing damage akin to Hado #89. This is a shameless Getsuga clone, with a 3 post cooldown. Boosts: x4 to Strength, Speed, and Reiatsu. BACK-DROP History: Time Spent in the World of the Living: Honestly, if you want a full retelling of his life, there's a really good book that Arthur can recommend called Le Morte de Arthur. Thomas Mallory took a few liberties, and left some things out, but Arthur can definitely correct them upon request, if one asks politely. Time Spent Dead: Well, this is where things get a little hairy. Arthur spent a very long time asleep, sealed away in his dreams before waking up on the outskirts of the Rukongai, remembering everything of his life yet knew nothing of what was going on around him. He was in District 80, Zaraki, when he managed to watch a few Shinigami get attacked by the locals. Hooligans, all of them. The Shinigami, he noticed, had a peculiar sword that seemed to be connected to their spirit, a part of them that wouldn't ever go away. He could understand that, and when the dust cleared and three of the Shinigami were dead, he stepped in. They were wearing white with blue or red stripes, seemingly depending on gender, and one of the ones who was dead wore black robes, marking a fully trained combatant. At least, he was doing the best out of the group. The dozen bandits, on the other hand, hadn't lost a single man. That is, until the Once and Future King stepped in. Drawing a massive black broadsword that had appeared with him, he absolutely slaughtered the ruffians, saving the students from what would be a painful death. Speaking to them, the knight followed them back to the Shin'o Academy, where he was offered the opportunity to join as a student. Being given the opportunity to protect again, even if it would take time, was enough. Excalibur, oddly enough, didn't need an Asauchi. The closest reason they could think of was that since it was forged by spirits, or fairies, it's power sealed itself in a similar manner to a Zanpakuto. He was rushed through the Academy, only really needing to learn about the spiritual aspects of things and not the combat aspects, and graduated within a year. The only thing he honestly doesn't have a clue about at this point is Kidou. Really, he hadn't had any talent for magic in life, and it seemed in death it just confirmed that his ability to use it hadn't increased at all. Honestly, he doesn't care. It was enough that he could protect others again... Side Notes: Arthur is meant to be Captain of the 13th Division, apparently. Kudos!
