I think everyone here knows how tiers work, they're a standard evaluation of your characters power and versatility, and general combat acumen. The higher your tier, the more options you'll have to upgrade your characters skill tree. Tiers go from D- to S+, but not everyone can reach that high of a level.

As a character you will have two tiers assigned to your character, your potential tier, and your current tier. Your current tier defines your abilities as they are at the present time, what are you capable of comparable to others. Your potential tier is an evaluation of the potential your character and quirk have on the whole. The only way to upgrade your potential tier is through rare staff approval, or staff evaluation after learning under a teacher.
