Listening to her words, Shane thought about Gwynevere's tone and decided to refuse to push any further into the topic when she mentioned the library being burned. He didn't want to drag up any painful memories, and gladly latched onto the new topic. "Unfortunately, I don't have any siblings. Everything about my family, from it's knowledge to it's continuation, rests on me. In all honesty, I'd rather just kill Hollows than bother with the political side of things, but we can't always get what we want, can we? So, anyone special in your life? Do I happen to have an Uncle?"

He was certainly getting more comfortable now, as his comedic and teasing side was starting to show.

A shame, really. She had been hoping for more family. At least she had the one here before her, it was more than she could have hoped for. However he then brought up a rather unique question. She gives off a soft giggle before replying. "No such luck, my father never let suitors even attempt to court me and those who remain here at the castle now have no such interest, having their own families already and such. I'm sure I'll end up finding someone eventually, especially since I've heard recently that our people still live on, but I haven't really had an opportunity to find that special someone yet."

So, she decided to return this very question. "And yourself, is there a potential wife in your future that I can welcome into our... unique family tree?" She was never really good at jokes but this was a true attempt at being jovial.

Shane, to his credit, managed to NOT spit his tea everywhere when asked that question, although it was fair that such a thing was asked. Thinking quickly, he managed to salvage the situation in his usual manner...copious amounts of humor, mingled with slightly too much information. "Well, there IS someone I've had my eye on, although she's been a bit preoccupied. Nuns are like that, you know. I'm pretty sure that it isn't a nightmare under the habit, but with everything I've seen I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up being an eldritch horror."

Looking at a watch that had been hidden under his robes, he sighed, standing up and bowing slightly. "This has certainly been a pleasure, Auntie, but unfortunately duty calls. Perhaps we can have tea again sometime."

Once his farewell was received, he'd move to the door and wave, a soft smile on his fave as he left. This...

This was pleasant.

Gwynevere had no idea what a nun was, though thought them maybe some sort of priest. Shane's humor truly worked, for it did get a bit of laughter out of her. "I'm sure if you can joke about such, she'll turn out just fine." Then, as it felt like things were picking up then young man had checked his pocket watch. He had gone on then to say that duty called, and that he wanted to have tea again sometime. "Of course, whether it is tea, talk, training or rest, Silbern will always have it's doors open for you young one." She stands and walks over, giving him a hug before he leaves. Once he was gone, it felt like the room just got a bit darker. She wanted to keep him here, that if he left she would lose what was left of her family. But he was a grown man, able to make his own choices.

And she would not become her father.
