This sinner was proving to be stranger than the High Inquisitor could have imagined, how could he have expected a debate about philosophy and world views? Perhaps it was the creatures attempt at a trick, to divide his attention and perhaps skulk away, perhaps even attempt an attack. By now though, he had to realize there was little he could do without the Quincy allowing it. The gulf between them was simply too great for that to be considered a possibility.
"Indeed, people like me. It is not merely my power but my drive that sets me apart." Though he would nearly scoff at this assessment of his strength. "So you deny strength in unity? How interesting." He felt there was no need to follow up further on this particular topic.
"Just because the starting line is beyond your reach, does not mean it doesn't exist" A simple rebuttal, but surely a reasonable one. Excluding oneself from such a challenge did not preclude loss. Instead it made one ineligible from ever winning. Becoming stagnant and unchanging meant there was no room to grow and achieve. The quincy couldn't help but smirk at the verse being used as evidence. "I was not accusing you of some theological form of impurity or corruption. I was stating fact. A soul excluded from the cycle due to misdeeds in life. Not some arbitrary concept of mankind's sin, but true evil punished for eternity."
"No self respecting Catholic would deny their sin, and neither shall I. Do you expect me to claim purity? I do not intend on bringing about world peace. I intend on protecting this world at all costs" His vision narrows for a moment. "And that will begin when I find those responsible for these recent attacks. I will fill your mountains with the dead. Your hills, your valleys, and your ravines will be filled with people slaughtered by the sword. I will make you desolate forever. Your cities will never be rebuilt." He paused, allowing the sinner to contemplate what he had just heard, a confirmation of retribution.
