"What I have to offer?" It always turned into that, didn't it? Individuals didn't join together without first considering their own potential gains. It was a natural flaw in the programming in just about all creatures in this world lately. They were so completely hesitant and reserved that they couldn't just embark upon a challenge for the sake of a challenge. There always had to be some reward or some treasure. Cubix just did not relate, but he was completely able to understand. It was so human like to put yourself before strangers and treasure before mystery, whether a reward or knowledge or something monetary was irrelevant, and it was a characteristic that existed in just about each and every being with some sort of intelligence in the broad Earthland. To Cubix, it was a nothing but a flaw that they could never truly escape.
But, before Cubix could truly answer, a few other forces presented themselves. First was a familiar, yet different, individual. Cubix actually took a short while to recognize the being. The drastic character warp was impressive. At the arrival of Deadpool, Cubix crossed his arms and grunted approvingly, "Impressive. So you finally have embraced some of your true colors?" Seeing the former Captain in this form made Cubix almost proud. He had taken interest in him for good reason. Cubix's instincts were rarely ever wrong. He, the former Captain, had become something fairly impressive and in a short while. An evolution that took their pitiful, monkey species eons, was managed by this man at a remarkable speed. It was beyond incredible. It was almost ingenious.
"Hmph," Cubix actually smirked. This was an interesting turn of events. The specter that appeared to reprimand the creature that Cubix was interested in. Hierarchies were boring, however, Cubix did want to see just what sort of existence it was that had instantly appeared and vanished. It was arrogant, apparently watching over the conversation and adding in his own two-cents. Arrogant was annoying. It was the last thing Cubix would like to experience, but, well, even that wasn't going to wash away all his curiosity.
Speaking of arrogant...
"Tsk," Cubix smacked, looking at an overly irritating showboating display of power. The definition of being obnoxious was being so impossibly important that it was necessary to cause irrelevant, unnecessary, pointless damage to the surrounding area just to get a few eyes to look yonder. As Dominique continued to expand his sphere of gluttonous malice, Cubix vanished with a high speed Celer.
The high speed movement caused his body to disappear from the place it was and reappear four yards back with a straight line of fluttering grassblades pointing the direction of his retreat. "Enemy? I wouldn't decorate a tyrannical relic such as yourself with such an empowering word. More like pest. Believe me," Cubix said, sharing a short, half grin that was more sarcastic than genuine. Around Cubix, the earth quaked with a short burst of energy as spikes shot up around Cubix's sides, all pointing skyward, and all looking fairly dangerous and sharp. They were broad, completely forged of merged stone, and had there been anything a few feet around him, such as trees, they were skewered and lifted off the ground in the blink that they were formed. The stones broke away, crumbling into dirt, just as quickly as they were summoned.
"Had I the power, you would have died long before ever left your infernal prison," Dusting his hands, as if he had just done some difficult chore, Cubix looked away from Dominique with a loss of will and ability. Cubix couldn't maintain a conversation with a grotesque barbarian like him. He wasn't worth it. He wasn't worth even acknowledging, even though that was certainly impossible.
As Cubix was looking away, he sensed something appear? It was weird though. He couldn't sense it any any way other than one, which meant it was concealing its power, nature and intent. Strangely, Cubix didn't know who this was or what they were, but he had a feeling that he knew exactly who it was. Cubix looked over to the newcomer as they cocky introduced themselves. Yet another earsore, apparently. What was that saying human's had? Similar minds thought alike? Could that be used to say that arrogant behemoths had the same foolhardy tendencies? Definitely.
"Well, that really doesn't matter though," Cubix said to himself, remembering his true intent here. It wasn't to align with anyone other than one of them, the more interesting one, and not the one with the larger head. Besides, seeing these two couples link up and propagate wasn't a fetish Cubix dabbled in. The Lord of Demons and this Lord of Light could go play painting with their powers for all Cubix cared. They were irrelevant variables.
