Katsushiro was sitting in his cave near Karakura Town, and he was very bored. There was absolutely nothing for him to do. To add to Katsushiro's irritation, it was very hot and muggy outside. This was the kind of temperature and condition that made one's shirt stick to his skin just mere seconds after leaving an air-conditioned room. So it was that Katsushiro sat there, bored, annoyed, red, and stick with his own sweat. Because of this boredom, he decided to make his way into Karakura Town, where there was actually something to do. Detection by Soul Society was actually a good prospect at this point, because then Katsushiro would get to fight, which was much better than his current state of extreme boredom.
Standing up, Katsushiro picked up his two swords. He fastened the sheathed katana, which was his Zanpaku-to, Akai Hono, as well as his wakizashi, which was also sheathed, into the cyan obi sash that held his dark blue kimono and hakama together. Now, even though it was hot and humid, Katsushiro put on his cape, fastening it at his sternum with a golf ball-sized brooch of pure emerald and platinum. After putting gold gauntlets on his wrists, Katsushiro was ready to head out. He walked out of his cave, heading into the woods. It was a three mile walk through the woods, which would take about two hours in this weather. Not wanting to waste the time walking, Katsushiro decided to use Shunpo.
Using Shunpo after Shunpo, Katsushiro arrived at the outskirts of the town in about 20 seconds. Another 10 seconds later, Katsushiro had arrived at a park in the town square. He looked around, searching for a place where he could hang out while looking for something to do and keep a low profile. Seeing a bench under the shade of some trees, he walked over and sat down. He waited for something of interest to happen.
