"I'll salute the man when he is in my presence however there is no law stating I have to salute a picture, nor will I ever." Eaon retorted. He wasn't saluting a picture, painting, image, or illusion, no matter who they were of. He wasn't one to waste time on such things, he saluted a superior when they were in the room, and while he didn't disrespect them while they were gone, he didn't go out of his way to make an ass of himself.

"Lieutenant Eaon Norellia. Sixth Division." Eaon stated as he looked over to the 9th Division's Captain. He really didn't seem like too much special other than one who unlike Eaon wasn't one for formalities, to each their own to be sure, but Eaon couldn't recall if he'd trained this one or not. Eaon felt like he would remember, but he trained many Shinigami and Eaon felt like he would have known if one had become a Captain. Some had, granted, but this one didn't ring any bells.

"And yes, I could, most of you are only trained in Zanjutsu and without your Bankai or considerable Spiritual presence, you're terrible fighters. I would know, I was an honored teacher at the Academy for quiet awhile before enlisting myself because my style of Swordsmanship is simply better in all ways than Zanjutsu." Eaon said not really as arrogantly as one would think. Eaon was confident in his ability, his Zanpakutou was good and as far as the ability to use Bankai went Eaon could fight just as well as most Captains. However Eaon's true ability lied in his technique, and ultimately his ability to accurately assess his opponent's skill through out a battle, and figure them out so well that he could by the end of a prolonged fight, just out perform his opponent. That of course was supposing he couldn't just kill them out right.

"Rules without exception last eternity Taicho, you'd do well to remember that." Eaon responded upon hearing the 9th Division Captain's response to his own. The law was the law, and currently Zeipher was infringing on the 6th Division's domain. While Eaon couldn't do much to him himself legally, the fact of the matter was Zeipher really couldn't do much to Eaon without first going through Senna, because as her Lieutenant he was technically her liability and asset. That was just how Divisions worked though, the leaders shared all of the blame and in return were expected to keep order. Division Six was just unique in that they got to keep order for everyone.

Misoka had watched the three talk until her Captain had ordered her to go over there by her. She had complied then listened closely as they went on. However when she heard her Captain's command her face flushed a deep red. "D-do I have to Captain?" She asked as she knew that her captain was probably serious and would make her choose one of the options.

Once again as she was about to make herself very clear about the image of the captain-commander to another subordinate the incredibly rude captain once again berated her and critiqued her methods. Her patience with the man was starting to draw very thin. She gritted her teeth and even bit her lip lightly. She ignored Eaon's refusal a second time and merely patted Misoka on the head and pulled her closer to her side. She stared defiantly at the other captain.

"I have had quite enough of your atrocious manners and grotesque attitude. I don;t care how long you have been here or how well liked you are by the others. I don't even care what accomplishments you have or how respected you are. Now and everytime after this you will speak to ladies properly. Furthermore you will stop slandering the name of the captain-commander. He most certainly does not come down from his private quarters soley to kill and if he ever has I am positive he had a good reason for it. As a fellow captain you should set a proper example and be the first to salute the captain-commanders image. Go on, don't keep me waiting." Senna pulled Misoka back by the shoulder and left a clear path between Gust and the image. Her palm slid smoothly to the middle of Misoka's back. Senna waited to see if Captain 'Gust' would give in and rise to her bait or if he would actually salute the image.

Gust smirked, turning around fully to the woman, lifting up his hood. "to talk to a woman right, they have to act like one. Not like a savage as the man up there." he commented, pointing to the captain-commanders quarters. He looked over towards the captain's Image, before spitting on the ground. "Salute to the devil? nah. You guys can do that though. I'd rather salute to a frog." he knew he was getting to the captain. He knew it from the moment he entered the area. He just laughed it off. He didn't care. His grey hair peeked out his hood as he blew it up slightly. Rolling his neck, he placed his hands in his pockets, whistling from his lips as he looked back to the Lt. "I have things that Soul reapers never saw. I don't rely on bankai or spiritual pressure. I am a Haukda and Zanjustsu expert. I trained in the 11th division for centuries." He said with a confident smile on his face. He was sure none of the captains seen monk form. He was so sure of it.

Eaon closed his eyes and listened as the shouting continued. It was quiet unseemly. If this Captain had showed up simply to start a ruckus he'd definitely succeeded. Still Eaon was more experienced than his relatively new Captain in dealing with the higher level politics of the Seireitei. While it was a Noble idea that all the Shinigami served the Soutaicho, and while it was true they were his personal army, the Soutaicho was not the true leader of the Seireitei. Likewise assuming the Soutaicho had full power and could do whatever he pleased was also incorrect. There was a higher governing power in the Seireitei that it appeared everyone else had forgot.

That higher power was the Central Forty Six. The remaining traces of Noble Rule over the Seireitei since before the days of the Shinigami and Gotei 13. They served as the legal balance between the Shinigami and their power, acting on the side of the powerless by having absolute power over the powerful. While almost none of the Central 46 were fighters themselves nor Shinigami, they represented the Rukongai and had the power to exile and change Shinigami around and will. This is why Eaon didn't treat the Soutaicho as the true leader of the Shinigami, while he was the commander he was not the chief.

"Taicho Proto I would remind you that whatever rules you observe in the Ninth Division do not apply here, and that you are to respect the authority of the Sixth Division while within our quarters. If that means speaking respectfully or holding your tongue on your thoughts of the Soutaicho, it is our customs and our rules to be observed, less you be removed." Eaon said in a cool, calm, and otherwise collected manner. Eaon didn't like the idea of jumping down a man's throat just to do it, besides it didn't seem like Zeipher would really even do anything other than make the situation worse. However if he wouldn't respect the laws and customs of Division 6, then having him handled in a legal manner was of course well within Division 6's rights. After all, this was their territory.

"As for your skills? Zanjutsu and centuries of training with the saddest excuse for "Combat Experts" I have ever seen in either of my lives proves only that if you tried to fight me, I could kill you in perhaps three cigarettes time. You are ultimately a Shinigami who relies on the Shinigami way of combat, and because of that, because of my training, any time you don't rely on overwhelming power, I will strike you down every time." Eaon said narrowing his eyes. Eaon wasn't a fool, just because he'd refused the opportunity to become a Captain himself and likely would continue to do so in the future didn't mean he wasn't at or above the level. Truth be told Eaon could stand toe to toe against quiet a few of the Seireitei's finest and not even break a sweat, because that's simply how good Eaon really was.

Eaon had all the tools of the trade, Shikai, Bankai, even knew a few Kidou spells. What gave Eaon his edge was that he wasn't trained standard like all the other Shinigami. You see the Shinigami trained in Zanjutsu and their other skills in the Academy where they taught it standard to teach as many young Shinigami as possible. While that got many Shinigami trained decently it could never ever be a substitute for the decades of training and the actual use that Eaon had gotten in his Tenrai Kouhei Tsurugi Ryu. Because of these things Eaon truly believed himself to be on a level above the Shinigami in swordsmanship, and for the most part considering his rank as well as his over all win to loss ratio, he wasn't necessarily wrong.

"Now I will ask once more, please respect the customs of the Sixth Division while in our areas or please find the nearest door." Eaon spoke once more, while he seemed very patient, his patience was wearing thin. Normally Eaon didn't find pestilence annoying, he even found what Zeipher was doing to be humorous, however listening to his Taicho get so outraged was embarrassing and Eaon sought to see that put to an end.

Captain Zeipher and her own lieutenant had pretty much summed up her experiences with her fellow shinigami. She was surrounded by insubordinate subordinates and fellow captains that were outright dissidents. Had they all gone mad? Was she the only one that realized that as Captain-Commander he was their leader? Central 46 might have the authority to command them but they generally stayed out of official business and only truly handled cases that dealt with the sentencing of a shinigami or other such matter. They never actually planned missions or oversaw shinigami operations but that was a fact apparently overlooked by those around her. Whether they liked it or not, whether they accepted it or not, this was not a democracy. This was the Soul Society and the Captain-Commander's word was law.

With her arm around Misoka's shoulders Senna turned til they both faced the image head on. She glanced back at the other two and was disgusted by their lack of loyalty. She turned back to the image and sighed. "Dark days are ahead of us here, Misoka, and before the end transpires you will see horrific things. Many that have sworn to the same duty as you and I are playing games over politics and power. To make it worse they have completely forgotten their duty and I fear a lot of people are foolish enough to befriend our enemies." Senna shook her head slowly and wondered when the Gotei 13 had abandoned wisdom for foolishness. "They're all making a big deal over the death of hollow's, Misoka. HOLLOWS. Our main purpose is to keep the balance of souls between our worlds. Hollows are constantly upsetting that balance, not a part of it. Do you understand me Misoka? Don't let anyone tell you that they are needed and that the world will end if we get rid of them all because they are wrong. If there were no hollows then nothing would disturb the balance of souls that flows in and out of both worlds."

"Then there would be no use for us either. Senna." Gust commented, looking over towards her as she talks about hollow.s "If they suddenly go. We have no use. No meaning." He continued, walking over near Misoka. "Have you seen the Captain-commander? Have you seen him gather court, or order anythign at all?" Gust smiled, tilting his head as he winked. "The geezer doesn't do any of that. He just waits for Vizards." he commented, turning his back to the two as he lifted up his hood, covering his face as he smiled widely underneath.

I've interacted and know a few of them, to be honest."
he said, lifting up his arm.

Misoka had watched the three until her captain started to talk to her. She listened intently as she looked at her division's leader. After her speech Misoka nodded as she understood what her Captain was trying to get across. She soon sighed however as she watched the other two Shinigami closely.

"Captain I would ask that you stop embarrassing yourself and the rest of the Division with the unnecessary melodrama." Eaon began, enough was quiet enough. His voice no longer calm and seeking to end the fighting diplomatically, but rather forcefully restore order because Proto had no intentions of not drawing on forces that would fuel Senna's anger. The only problem is she was actually letting it occur, and that was even more of an embarrassment. "I have been the Lieutenant of this Division longer than you have been the Captain, and I will tell you right now that no other Captain has ever requested we salute or kiss a picture, nor will we ever comply in that sentiment, and if you wish the respect and loyalty of your Division you will never ask it of any member of Division 6 again. We are loyal to the laws of the Soul Society and its people, and if you, Zeipher, myself, or the Commander himself acted against the law we'd bring you down just as hard and just as fast. Remember that."

Eaon then turned his attention to Zeipher, who he honestly was less annoyed with. Yes he was being a total ass, yes he was provoking Division 6 without reason, yes he may or may not have been spitting lies just to provoke the ire of Senna, however he never said she had to respond the way she did. Eaon didn't have a problem with verbal provocations, there was nothing illegal about them, and while some might find them offensive, Eaon though they just needed to toughen up. A Shinigami who can't stand the words of their piers had no hope in surviving the blades of their enemies.

"Captain Zeipher I will not ask again, either stand down or take your leave. If you do not wish to do either myself and my men will be happy to take you to holding where you can see first hand how our division operates, and then once we feel you understand our meaning and our customs you will be free to leave." The scary part is Eaon wasn't at all joking around. He was more than willing to detain a Captain over something stupid like this if it got his point across. Eaon nor his Division, Division 6, would be made a mockery of, especially not in their own Divisional Headquarters. Technically Zeipher was disturbing the peace...or something. Eaon wasn't really sure what his goals were for this little game, however he was pretty tired of dealing with it.

Finally Eaon looked to Misoka, the relative ghost of the get together. It was a shame someone so seemingly timid had found their way into a mess of Melodrama and posturing. It was also a shame that Eaon had to risk getting a long lecture from his Captain once all this was over, especially considering he was the more experienced officer. However such was life, if the entire sum of Eaon's entire almost eight hundred year life was to be the guy who kept two Captains from going at it, that's what it was. However he felt as though if it was in his ability to keep his subordinates out of the line of fire he would gladly do so.

"Misoka-Dono. I ask that you disregard today, it has already been unusual and I assure you this is not the way the Division will operate in the future. Captain Senna is new, and Captain Proto is well...Captain Proto. I assure you once we've had time to adjust to these changes to the roster everything will be much better."

Senna stood and let everyone's words sink in. She considered each one that was spoken to her or at her. She didn't mean to laugh when things were so serious but she couldn't help it. Her laughter ripped through the air and a single tear rolled down her cheek. Without even noticing she mussed up Misoka's hair as she turned back to face the boys. Senna looked to Gust first but she quickly dismissed him with a wave of her hand. Her eyes quickly found Eaon's and she held him with her gaze.

"Make no mistake, Lieutenant. I AM the captain of the 6th Dvision. Not you. I don't care if you have more experience nor do I care if you made the choice to not go for a captain's rank. I have and I will decide how things are run on a day to day basis around here. Unless you are telling me that the word of a lieutenant goes over the word of a captain? Let me make myself crystal clear...I am not here to gain your respect or anyone else's. I am not here to make sure you are not embarrassed. What I am here for is to make sure the laws are obeyed. If you have a problem with that then feel free to abandon your post. As for what previous captains may have or may have not asked of their subordinates, well, I don't care about that either. As you said yourself they were past captains. The next time you feel it within your right to tell me how to do my job do me a favor and throw yourself off the top of Sōkyoku Hill and rid me of your insolence. I hope I have made myself clear, Lieutenant Norellia. One more thing, Eaon. I suggest next time you skip your threats and go straight to attacking me. I won't allow my subordinates to continue threatening their captain without consequences."

She wondered which of these foolhardy, ego driven boys would be the first to realize she was no timid little girl like the kind they have been used to dealing with.
